Yes, it may be the formula. My baby was on Nestle Goodstart for months. All of a sudden she had diarrhea for a month. I was so worried. The doctor check her stool for bacteria and parasites and found nothing. Finally we switched her to soy milk and she hasn't had diarrhea since.

Bosslady,
Yes ,it can be the formula, call the pediatrician to ask which one he /she would recommend to switch to.

It could honestly be anything - I wouldn't jump to the conclusion that it's the Similac until you've had a chance to call the pediatrician's office and see if it may be a virus.

Our son had a crazy reaction the first time he had eggs - had to call the pediatrician and get Benadryl in his system. Ended-up being something completely different and coincidental.

Glad our pediatrician advised us to stick with it.

it could be a number of things, and it could be the formula... with out more info it is hard to say. If the baby is old enough you can try some rice cereal that can be very helpful for diarrhea. Diarrhea can cause dehydration, make sure you are giving your baby lots of fluids. cant hurt to call the nurse if you are still worried.

how long has she been on it? that makes a difference. how old is she? my baby was on it since the hospital and had diarrhea and we found out it was from her teething. lasted a few days and then went back to normal. if she has been having diar for more than a few days then it could be something intestinal or it could be the formula. i would talk to the nurse and see what they think.
