Hi everyone,
My husband and I have been trying to conceive baby #2 for 6 months now. We conceived the first time with our daughter who is now 21 months. I have really been patient while trying and doing my best not to be disappointed each month when AF comes. My question is this...have any of you had mood changes before you found out you were preggers? I am not due to get my period for another 6 days but for the last week I have been having a terrible time with my attitude. I just feel like little things that normally woudln't bother me just really get under my skin sort of like a pms symptom (if any of you are lucky enough to have this) but much worse, plus it would be a whole week early. I am so frusterated because I don't remember this with pregnancy #1 and I am normally quite a cheery person who is not easily rattled so I feel a bit out of control!
Any advice you can give would be greatly appreciated.

What can I do next?

Hi T.,

I have 2 kids,6 years apart. Both pregnancies were different. All pregnancies are different for that matter. How old are you? I didn't start really having PMS until I hit 30.My doctor told me to eat a handful of almonds.Or try taking a magnesium supplement if you don't like almonds. The reason you get PMS, is you are low in magnesium. It could be that you are pregnant, and the mood swings are part of it.When I was pregnant with my daughter, who will be 19 next month,I was sick for the 1 st 3 months. With my son,who is 12, it was the second 3 months.Very different. The cravings were different too.

I didn't experience mood changes but I would have a sudden weight gain of about 10 pounds! Irritating but a definate indicator for me :)

Don't get discouraged. Our third took his sweet time in getting here but it was worth the wait!

I was very moody before I found out I was pregnant. Its not impossible that that's why, but you're also concentrating h*** o* this and that can mess you up, too. There are many possibilities. Take B vitamins, eat soy and get a lot of fluids. Any relaxation techniques you're comfortable with, too. That will benefit mood regardless of your status.

I always get crabby when I'm pregnant - first trimester and beyond. I know it's the pregnancy hormones because when I PMS, I do not get grumpy I get more sensitive, cry more easily, but I don't get angered easily like I do when I'm pregnant.

I'm currently pregnant with my second child and in the first trimester. I'm experiencing the crabbiness full force. Luckily for my husband, I mostly get irritated with strangers - drivers, telemarketers, etc. In the first month of this pregnancy, I got in a fight with this guy at the gas station! (In my defense, he made the first comment but normally I wouldn't have responded.)

I don't have any advice, but I hope that you either are pregnant or get pregnant soon if it's God's will. Best of luck!

We also tried for 6 months and just found out we are pregnant! Usually the day I start my period I am very clumsy and forgetful. I always did dumb things like put the cereal in the fridge and the milk in the cupboard, stuff like that. About a week before I was supposed to start I had a day like this, I would have sworn I was going to start that day but I never did! We took a test after I was a day late and it was positive! Yeh!!

Unfortunately, every month I thought I was having pregnancy symptoms it ended up being negative, this was the only difference I experienced when I was actually pregnant. I was always moody the week before I started my period, so it wasn't a good indication for me. Good luck!

T.,
I have heard over and over again from women trying to conceive that the more you agonize over getting pregnant and if you stress yourself out about it, it doesn't happen. RELAX and remember, what is meant to be will happen when its meant to happen. :-)
With that being said, I try to remember that myself every day! I have been wanting to get pregnant with #2 for 1 1/2 yrs now! I remember how I felt before I knew I was pregnant with #1, and I swear sometimes I want to be pregnant so bad that my brain tricks me into have those symptoms, all to be disappointed again when I take a pregnancy test.
So, relax, have some fun (wink, wink), and remember it will happen eventually. Good luck.

I'm in the middle of my second pregnancy. This time I had very strong PMS symptoms, extreme fatique, and insomnia for a week before I was supposed to start my period.
I definitely knew something was going on!

Right after I conceived I had several melt down days, which was what made me suspicious that I was pregnant because usually I'm not emotionally unstable. I couldn't focus or get my house clean for Christmas guests - and I was SO EXCITED about them coming - I'd just start crying and freaking out. I didn't really melt down like that the first time either, so its certainly something to make you wonder. :) Hope its the good news!

Crabby, Mood swings, and crying episodes are all pms symptoms too unfortunatly. Most pregnancy symptoms are same as pms symptoms. If you want something really bad you can have your brain think it and your body will give symptoms of it. So step back relax try not to think of baby. Let it happen. If you dwell it won't happen. As soon as you have fun and enjoy life forget about wanting it will happen. It seems when god feels like you want it he won't give it but if you enjoy life and not want so much he allows you to recieve it. Just relax enjoy trying to create soemthing awesome and enjoy your husband. Take in all the special things your little lady has to offer. It will happen in time!

I took a pregnancy test because my husband and friends kept asking me why I was being so confrontational and moody and a complete jerk (which is how I get when I with PMS). Surprise! It was positive.
Moodiness was definitely an indicator for me!

GOOD LUCK!
