Please Someone Tell Me It Will Get Better!

I have officially dubbed this month Black July, because seriously this has been the worst month. So far we have had
My mother go through a Mastectomy for breast cancer, then she had a reaction to the meds, so of course they just kept pumping her full of medications which eventually led to her being catatonic for nearly two days.
My daughter had a yeast infections, which she lovingly shared with me.
My yeast infection turned into an UTI
Wednesday I had a biopsy on my thyroid
Yesterday I found out my insurance may not cover the biopsy or the two ultrasounds that I had done because the nodules on my thyroid were a "pre-exisitng condition" Yet had I waited for four more months, then they would have paid, because I would have had the insurance for a year. Really? You would pay then but not now?
and last but not least my daughter has a viral infection in her mouth, which will probably lead to cold sores. Thanks Grandma! That's probably where she got it.

I think one more thing just might make me snap. How do you guys break the stress?
Surely it's got to get better, right?

What can I do next?

oh my gosh you poor thing, and I thought we were having a bad month. I pray, i talk to my hubby or mom or my best friend. usually the best friend just because i know I can talk to her without hurting her because usually what i have to talk about involves hubby or mom, LOL....maybe, start taking walks in the morn or evening if it is possible. listen to music, i am kind of a wierdo on that one cause usually the hard rock typed stuff is what calms me down, but i can get lost in almost anykind of music. maybe start baking or drawing as a way to change your train of thought. start a journal. and soooo sorry if all of this is a repeat, i usually read the other responses first. if it makes you feel any better, i'm having a bad month too, not nearly as bad as yours though. i got a staph infection on my arm, doc prescribed Bactrim...i had a really bad allergic reaction to it and at first the reg doc thought i had MRSA, put me in teh hospital on IV vancomycin, that stuff is harsh, gave me horrible headaches. got released after 4 days and the infectious disease doc is the one who treated me and told me i was allergic to sulfa drugs. 3 days after i get home we take our oldest, 2 years old, to the doc and he has strep throat, ear and sinus infection. the next day, i'm feeling sick and went in for my follow up visit and i have the same exact things, so yet another antibiotic for me. and now one of our twins, 7 months old, is getting sick and has some weird gooby stuff coming out of his swollen little eyes. plus my mom is on the verge of a total hip replacement....so, while my situation is minor compared to yours,,,,,i feel ya!!! hope all gets better...and oh yeah, hehehehe, if your up to it, sometimes some reeeeeeaaaaallllllyyyyyyyyyyyyy good sex helps too!!

Did you have health insurance within 62 days of your current coverage starting? Part of HIPPA is that if you have previous coverage it can be used to satisfy the pre existing limitations on your current plan. Example: You work for company A for 5 yrs with health insurance. You leave and get a job with company B. Company B's health plan has pre existing limitation for the first year so anything treated before would not be covered. However if you get a letter from company A (which they are required by law to send you) showing the dates you were covered by their plan you can use that to satisfy the pre existing limits for company B.

When you are stressed your immunity lowers and hence the little side illnesses. I'm a vitamin gal and so I believe in boosting that immune system right now. Do what you can to eat right, exercise and add some vitamins.

That said.......sometimes life is hard but each time you get through a trial you can pat yourself on the back for that success. Allow it to be better. Cancer sucks! That's a rough and tough load. Just do your best not to let it consume you. Just keep doing the best you can to offer your love to those around you. Visualize happy times in your spare time. It helps! And it will help you get through this.

No where else to go but up! Yes, it will get better- doesn't it seem like bad things always come in threes? (Or fours and fives)

Stay strong and I hope you recover soon. When you can, do something nice for yourself. Keep us posted on your biopsy.

(hug)

For me I just run to the Lord. I read his word, listen to some books on tape, download some messages from online, pray, journal, and wait for things to turn around.

It also helps to read on sites like this and see how many others have been or are going through worse. Just looking at the news will depress a person unless we are willing to pray for the people and thank God for everything that is going right in our lives.

I've heard it said that if we have a terrible pain in one leg, we should thank God for the leg that doesn't hurt. No matter how rough something is, we can find something going right in our lives.

As bad streaks go, that sounds pretty bad.
But no streak (good or bad) lasts forever.
You are due for a change.
July is almost over.
It will get better!

I'm so sorry to hear your news :( We are stressing out if we should do a short sale or fight for our house after fighting for the last 2/3 years with BOA. But your health, your DD and your mom's is far worse then what DH and I are going through. We can get a new place to live. Your poor mom, that breaks my heart. I would love to get a breast reduction and here she is (your mom) giving up her's due to cancer. Give her lots of hugs and tell her you love her. Insurance is never fun to deal with. But keep on keeping on till you have no more options. DH and I are ready to give up but we keep on keeping on. Not sure where the strength comes from. Keep thinking positive that better days are coming no matter how hard. Tonight I was feeling sorry for myself so I bought a smoothie (pina coloda) and it's relaxing me. Just "walk" away from it and clear your mind then take it baby steps. Your UTI and yeast infections will go away, the bills will always be there one way or another. You will pay what you can when you can. You have to take care of yourself. Your DD and mom need you. Make sure you vent to stay sane. Again hugs to you!

Check again with the insurance. Part of Obamacare is that you cannot be denied for a pre-existing condition. I thought that provision had gone into affect. Check with HR they should be able to help.

We all have times like this. Mine was all of last year! You can do this!

so sorry to hear about all this happening at once to you.
For your thyroid and for everyone's health,, I suggest you do some research on macrobiotics and health. Amazing results and no cost to you as you have to eat anyway.
