Parent/Tot Swim Lessons near Elmhurst

I am looking for Saturday morning parent/tot swim lessons for my 2-year-old to go to with my husband. The Elmhurst YMCA charges $112 for nonmembers for an 8-week session, which is not reasonable in my opinion. The Elmhurst Park District only has classes during the week, which does not allow my husband to take my son. Anyone know of any other options?

Check out Lombard Park District. I know that they have swim lessons held at International Village on Saturday mornings I think 5 weeks for $36 I heard. Villa Park holds swim lessons in the summer on Saturdays as well at one of their pools. I also know that Bensenville holds weekday evening classes and Saturday classes and they were roughly the same price I believe as Lombard. Living in unincorporated Villa Park, I have learned to shop around at different park districts for lessons. Stay away from Oakbrook because the prices are unreal. my email is ____@____.com if you have anymore questions. My friends daughter who is 3 is attending the swim classes in Lombard, I held off so my daughter could do gymnastics, but am planning on the next park district term to put her in the swim classes. Let me know how it goes for you! ~B.

We had the same frustration in Elmhurst. Try the Oakbrook Park District (not Oakbrook Terrace). They have a very nice indoor pool (zero entry for the younger kids) and their non-resident fees were very reasonable. They have a web site. Their lessons were taught by high school or college students.
I'm looking for home day care this fall for my newborn (due in August). Do you know of any good home day care providers in Elmhurst?

Hi - I took my son (when he was 9 mos.) to the classes at the PAV YMCA in Berwyn. I don't recall it being that expensive. At this location they also offer a "Fitness Flex Pass" which you can use on any class (and it ends up being less expensive). Maybe your location has this option?

Hi D.,
Check out the addisonparkdistrict.org under Club Fitness -Swimming. They have a parent tot swim class on Saturday mornings and non residents are only $46. I may be putting my 2-1/2 year old in a session the next time around too. My neighbor does the Elmhurst YMCA, but I too think it is too costly and my sister lives in Elmhurst and said the lesson for her son are a full week long during the summer. Good luck!

Hi D.
I went with my son when he was 6 months old to HealthTrack fitness club - it's at I-355 & 1/8 mile east on Roosevelt. I found the classes through DuPage Hospital, but I think they run independently now through the health club. I think they were $80? about a year ago.

D.,

Elk Grove Park District has a class on Saturday mornings. Actually the next class starts on 4/8. We actually just signed up for it. For non-residents it's 50 dollars I think.
