I am seeking some info on birthday party places other than Bounce U, X-Treme play & Jump & Shout(already ckd them out) My son is going to be 9 this Sept and he wants to have his party somwewhere but I can't think of other places. We live in Mesa and don't wnat to travel too far plus we are on kind of a budget. He's not real big on Peter Piper or Chuck E Cheeses. He thought about the ones listed above but I was tring to see what else is out there. Thanks for any suggestions you might have.

What can I do next?

Check out this site...I've used it for a couple of my kids' birthday parties and they both loved it!

Hi J.,

My son too will be 9 and he is requesting go cart race event, ARMY with his friend or paint ball fights. Realizing your budget you can create the ARMY and paint ball theme at the park - using cardboard cutouts creating boulders and hide outs; as for the paint ball fights - this too can be done at the park with a modified version of the idea - use small water balloons filled with washable paints.

Good luck and have fun,
L.

There is a company called Games 2 U that brings a big trailer to your house so that kids can play video games. I have all girls that aren't really interested in games so we haven't tried it but it sounds fun.

Does he like sports? Baseball? Bowling? We are renting a baseball field for my son's birthday and having an old fashioned family picnic, with peanuts, cracker jacks, nachos and hot dogs.

We have also gone to a birthday party at the bowling alley, that was a ton of fun. It is under $200 to rent a few lanes, they provide goody bags and the cake and you don't have to cook or clean. They had their party at the Brunswick on Gilbert and Warner-it is newer so it was clean and nonsmoking.

We also went to a laser tag birthday party at Stratum Laser on Stapley and the US 60. My son still talks about that party. The kids got to play two games and they had separate party rooms. The rooms were kind of small, but it was still a fun party.

I have a 12 yr old and we have had our share of parties! But for the last few years I have more children now so we have to watch our $$$ + the current economy = ahhhh. Anyway, in the past my son has been more than happy to have only a few kids over (his actual friends not his entire class) for a pizza overnighter. The kids have a blast and we get a movie or game from blockbuster and some pizza and popcorn for later and the kids really have a good time. My son has commented in the past that he likes smaller parties because he actually gets to hang out with his friends. Its nice for the parents because not all of the kids can stay the night so the number of kids dwindles throughout the evening. Just make sure you set up come and get them at this time in the morning because surprisingly parents will just let them stay all day! :) This past year for his bday we had 5 of his pick come for his favorites; favorite food for dinner (mac n cheese, crescent rolls, and steaks (walmart) then they swam for a little bit and just played in the yard and it was great. They all said they had a great time. Another idea, one year I took them to an arcade and told them in advance that they would each get like $25 (if they wanted to bring more $ they could) and when the money ran out, we left and came back here for dinner and cake. Hope this helps. Just remember, bigger is not always better. :) Good luck.

Hi J.. Have you looked at Amazing Jake's? They have a lot more stuff than Peter Piper or Chuck E Cheese, like go carts, a rock climbing wall and tons of other stuff. Also, there is a jungle gym type place called Matuku's Island on Ray in Chandler. It's really fun and he would be at a good age. You just set him and his friends loose and they'll have a blast. Hope this helps. Have fun and good luck!
