Birthday Party for 5Yo Boy in February/cold Weather

Previously, we've done the house (never want to do that again), Pump It Up Jr in Plano and Pump It Up in Frisco. I want to do something different this year. I know it could be warm, but more than likely it will be very cold out, so trying to keep that in mind. I am checking out the zoo, but it's pretty expensive and we have a lot of people. ugh. I haven't ruled it out completely, though. We just went to the Heard for a really fun party, so I was thinking about that. But the dinos will be gone by the time we have the party, and I know DS would like to involve the dinos :( I'm trying to get info from the new Children's Aquarium now too. He'd LOVE that. We are good with going just about anywhere in DFW.

Any other ideas out there?

TIA!

We went to two birthday parties this year at the pet store! The store has a room in back where the kids can have cake and pizza. The kids got to play with the dogs, cats, bunnies, hamsters etc. The store clerks were very knowledgeable about the animals and the kids got a tour first. They even got to learn about the fish. They got to touch a snake, cuddle a guinea pig and play. The store gave out coupons in the birthday bags. It seemed like a weird idea when I first heard about it but it was great! You might want to check with pet stores in your area.

Also, some martial arts studios do birthday parties. Gymnastics facilities are another one.

There is a Jumpin Land in Mckinney off of redbud and also Peter Piper pizza, kind of like a smaller version of chuck e cheese but hasn't been as crowded anytime we have been there. There is a new Chuck E Cheese in Allen too

We are doing our son's 5th birthday party at the Oak Point rec center in the gym room. They have 2 of the girl gymnasts there to run the party, 3 if you have more than 16 kids (up to 24 kids) and it is very reasonably priced.

My and my DH were just discussing this topic for our son. His bday is in Feb also, but we live in MN and in Feb the temps are usually -10 zero or maybe a little warmer. Last year we tried the in the house party and it was hectic having so many people crowded in our house. My DH came up with doing a party at the local bowling alley. Which would be fun, indoors, cheap, there is also an arcade, and pizza of course. A bowling alley might be a good choice for you.
