Has anyone had any success in removing Play-Doh from carpet? My three year old LOVES to play with it but I can't let it ruin our carpet (the kitchen table she plays at is over a carpeted area). Thanks!!

What can I do next?

No problem. Just let the playdoh dry hard. Then scrap it with a metal tablespoon or serving spoon. It will crack and break up. Then vacuum. It comes right up. You just have to be willing to let it dry for a day or two.

Let it dry then sweep it up. That has always worked for me.

Patty's idea is good about letting it dry and break up. Just avoid using carpet cleaners! Most are full of toxins like formaldehyde (which is a known carcinogen) and butoxy ethanol (which has been linked to reproductive disorders and kidney / liver damage).

I agree with everyone else, let it dry and then scrape it up. I use a plastic tablecloth under my daughters chair and table when she play with it, then I just roll it up and take it outside to shake it. :)

I have had great success with Resolve Carpet Granular powder. You can buy it at Walmart. It comes in a red and white plastic container, and has a red brush attached to it. You sprinkle the powder on the stain, scrub with the brush, wait 30 minutes, and vacuum it up. It's less than $5.00 and works wonderfully! Best of luck to you!
