I would like to know why is it that my son loves powder. I would change his diaper and as soon as I put powder on him he trys to eat it... any advice?
I know that its dangerous if inhaled, and I guess i should start using starch... I was just wondering why is he so into the powder..

Talc is dangerous if inhaled. I'd eliminate it from your house just to be safe. At least use pure cornstarch, not baby powder. Good luck.
Why are you using powder? Stop using it. If he inhails it, it's VERY dangerous.
Kids put all sorts of things in their mouth -- playdough, toys, any odd thing around the house. He's probably just curious and sensory seeking. You do know not to let him alone with the baby powder of course, right? It could be life threatening if inhaled.

LOL That is normal, just be glad he hasn't sprinkled it all over your house like my son did. OMG I wanted to cry, well actually I did, he put it EVERYWHERE, the floor, counters, beds, sinks, dog and cat, toilet, and even made "mud" cakes with it. When I tell you it took me hours to clean up I am not kidding you. I was so mad I kept the powder in the linen closet and he climbed the shelves to get at it. After it happened a number of times I questioned my pediatrician and she said this is normal but couldn't explain why kids do it. GEE THANKS DOC. LOL My suggestion to you is to keep it out of his reach and use it sparingly. Your son will outgrow this just like mine did. By the way my son now loves to cook and at 22 years old he is a fantastic cook, though he is not into powder anymore. LOL

Stop putting powder on him.
Check your bottle. It seems like all baby powder these days is cornstarch, not talcum powder.
I have no idea why he'd try to eat it. I never used it much, so I doubt you really need it. Maybe he just wants to play in it. Try dumping some plain cornstarch in a cake pan and let him have some fun--maybe set him (in just a diaper) and the pan in the bath tub for easy cleanup!

Perhaps try using vaseline (petroleum jelly) as a moisture barrier instead of powder and then he won't try to eat it.
Don't put powder on him.
I've never once used powder on my son. It can lead to inhalation & lung problems if inhaled.
Why does he do it, because he is two!
