Losing the "Baby Belly"

Hello Ladies!
I have a 2.5 yr old and have been trying like crazy to lose the "baby belly". I've been working out at the gym by doing the stair machine, bike, eliptical and the treadmill and doing this 20 min workout at home called the 30 Day Shred. Everything else I'm happy with. My arms and legs are toned and I've noticed that my upper half is getting small-I can see the outline of my ribs now-but I still have the skin. Does anyone know how to get rid of it?? I know it's possible because other women have done it but I don't have the money for a personal trainer. I'm not expecting a completely flat belly but I would like to feel a little better about myself.
Does anyone know of anything else I can try? Thanks!

What can I do next?

hi there is a great book called "Lose your mummy tummy" It teaches you several great exercises for this. I have bought the book, but have not yet had the time to finish it. Isis Maternity centers also offers a workshop based on this book.

Good luck

I have had luck with the "Restore the Core" class offered by Strollerfit (www.strollerfit.com). The actual class is the best because I find I work harder and have more fun when with others, but they have a dvd you can order from the site that is very good as well.
Good Luck!

Hi M.. I am a trainer and can offer you some advice.

First off, add some strength training like lunges/squats, pushups (one of the most under-rated and BEST core exercises) and ab planks.
Cardio exercise can help with weight loss, but will not firm up your whole body. You need some muscle conditioning in order to do that.
Also, the first place you want to lose weight is typically the last place it comes off! Unfair, I know.
The 'trouble spots' are harder to tone, and often get into better shape with better dieting.
I offer a FREE Ebook to all Mamasource moms that contains Strength Training and other exercise advice, nutritional info and more!

I have been checking out those big work out balls and I saw on one of the morning shows they did sit ups while sitting on that ball and you can work your way up to using the weights you hold in your hands to really push it. I am not sure what you call it but they stay it's great for the belly!

Hi M.,
Your doing all the right things. You may still have hormone issues going on as well. I'm currently reading from Belly fat to Belly Flat by CW Randolph, MD. How your Hormones are adding inches to your waistline. It claims if you over 30 it's happening to you. I realize your only 25 but the suggestions in this book I believe work regardless of you age especially since your body has gone thru so many hormonal changes.

Good luck,
K.
