Looking for Valentine's Day or Any Baby Contest This Spring Around Houston

Universal Royalty has their state in August and usually has several preliminaries. There was one this weekend so she will prob have her next in Feb sometime. I competed in hers for many years and now my son competed in hers for about 5 years. We used to do pageants regularly but haven't done one in a while so I'm not sure when everyone is having theirs. Sunburst should be coming soon as well. They have less glitz and glamour and focus more on natural beauty and personality. Also a great pageant. Their state level is fun and constantly on the move. I will probably start getting more info on pageants again here soon. I mentioned that my son wanted to do pageants again. I'll pull some of my lists tonight. There are a few to stay away from but most in this area are ok.

You might try calling the Chamber of Commerce, if they can't help, maybe they know someone that can.

I was so intrigued by your question because I won the Houston Baby Show in 1954. I had on a pair of baby overalls, a t-shirt and those white high top shoes all babies wore back then.

Mom said, I didn't cry but walked out like I owned the place, turned and winked at the judges. She could not believe it for I was a shy baby.

Mow mind you, I don't remember any of this for I was only 18 months old. I wish I had a picture of it but we were very poor then and had no camera.

Hi! I'm new to the pageant thing, but this year I saw an ad at our mall for the Sunburst pageant and figured I'd enter my daughter for fun. She won and we will be going on to state. I loved that the contest was focused on personality much more then looks (the other winners were all hams too, just like my little one) but there were several categories to enter. The best was that the top 7 all get to go on to state and every entrant got a trophy! My daughter is two, but had such a blast and loves to show off the trophies she got for "good behavior!" as she calls it. There is a competition for adults too, which I was too shy to enter but it had very few contestants, and would be a fun way to share the experience. There were only two women who entered, and the one who won was quite overweight but very friendly and charismatic, so even at the adult level it was focused on personality over looks.
