hi- can anyone suggest a lightweight infant car seat? the one you can carry around with you - it seems that once you have baby inside the seat - it is just so heavy - just wanting to know if there is light weight version out there.

thanks.

What can I do next?

I did a bunch of research and unfortunately no car seat is that light weight. One of the lightest is Graco SnugRide (and rated high marks too all around) at about 7 pounds. We then got the Snap n' Go. I would recommend that route. And if you can get a sling (Baby Bjorn). Good luck and congrats!

I bought one of the Snap and Go stroller for the car seat. I did not want to have to take the baby out of the carrier once I got to where I was going, especially when you have another child to watch. The stroller is basically just a frame and the car seat fits in to the frame, and the Snap and Go stroller itself is very light. Good luck!

I found with two kids it is impossible to carry the seat. I carry my baby in a sling- sooo much easier. I recommend the Maya Wrap or similar. Good luck!

I agree - a sling is ideal. Kangaroo Korner have some great ones. We had the Graco Snugride, but even with a 12 pound baby in it, it wasn't easy to carry.

I hope you fine something that works for you,
