everytime i go into shopping stores i can never find cute clothes for my boys that are reasonably priced. My husband and i were talking about maybe starting a little boys clothing line. but i was just thinking does any one agree with me about the lack of cute little boys clothes that don't cost an arm and a a leg. If i do deceided to start this i wouldn't even know how to get started. any advice?

What can I do next?

I have 3 boys as well, and have often lamented the lack cute boys' clothing. One of my big pet peeves is to go into a "children's" clothing store, and find that what they actually meant is a girls' clothing store. So, yeah, I have talked about starting my own clothing line, especially after finding nothing cute that wasn't sport related. Let me know if you'd like to collaborate some on ideas, okay?

I've found cute stuff for my little guys at this place called GumdropSwap (http://gumdropswap.com). You can swap from anywhere in the US by sending the clothes your kids outgrow to this kids boutique in CT. An option if you want to get some value out of all the money you spent instead of flat out donating. As long your things are in good condition they don't turn down anything because of brand, size or season. They take everything unlike resale store like Once Upon a Child! They give you points to shop on the website and send the clothes that fit your kids. It's great if you don't have time, patience or know how to do consignment, Ebay, craigslist, tag sale, etc.

I have two girls and I LOVED shopping for them when they were little... of course, I didn't care about the cost cause I was young and inexperienced. But I always had compliments on how adorable they dressed... from hats down to the matching socks and shoes!

Now I have added a son... and yes, cute boys clothes are hard to find regardless of where you go. Because their clothes only consist of a bottom and top. That's it. You can dress it up with a cap and cute shoes, but still...

I have found The Children's Place to have very cute clothes and cute prices! Also, Gymboree has awesome sales... I shop at The Children's Place regardless of sales because they are good prices for good quality clothes -- I even get my son's shoes there. I shop sales at Gymboree and Gap Kids. Every once in awhile, Old Navy has things that are cute... but not that often -- at least what I can find. I get lots of compliments on how nice my son is always dressed...

I am a single mother of my three kids so CHEAP is the magical word for my budget!!! But appearance is important... because I want my kids to look nice.

I hear your frustration!!!

Here's a bio of how the Pots and Pans Jolie-Pitt baby's onesie got started.

www.Etsy.com is an online store full of aspiring designers and crafters, there are a lot of children's clothing on there. It's a tough business to break into small time, b/c you don't have the backing to get as good materials for a reasonable cost that will turn a profit for the creator and still be a fair orice at the same time.

www.cafepress.com has some designers as well, they are limited to screenprinting on onesies and tshirts though.

http://www.stylease.com/about.htm This is one mom who started her own clothing line as well.

Really, you will have to do A LOT of research and have some good funding and great ideas. Most clothing designers work for larger companies and end up branching out.

I have 2 boys and I couldn't agree with you more! The only things that really ARE cute are like... unbelievably expensive and I just can't pay $60 for a shirt my 2 year old is going to wipe his pizza sauced hands all over because he could care less what the logo on the breast is... i just wanted something cute... and there's never anything out there.
