Infant Pants Won't Stay Up!

I need suggestions on how to keep my daughter's pants from falling off her. The problem is that her waist is so tiny, all her pants shimmy down or simply slide off her butt. I've considered making a velco belt, but aside from any hazards involved, I'm pretty sure she'd figure out how to take it off. She's too young for her clothes to have adjustable waistlines, but I've considered taking her pants to an alterations place to have this put in, but then, I'd have to do that for a ton of pants (6-12 months) and the next size up as well (12-18 months). I can't even imagine how much 12-18 month pants will drown her but due to her length, she'll need them soon. I don't have a sewing machine, nor do I know anyone who does. Overalls are a good alternative but I already have a bunch of pants & her 1st b-day is later this month, where I'm certain she'll get more clothes! Any suggestions?

I've got one word for ya: LEGGINGS!!!!
They are the most perfect pant, sooo easy to put on and take off for diaper changes, warm and comfy for the fall/winter
months, and they are cute. Even under dresses.
Good luck to you!
And by the way, I just love u-city...My folks live in Parkview, just behind Delmar, and in my opinion this is the best time of year to enjoy all the loop has to offer.

My daughter had the same problem. Children's place has pants with adjustable waist. I used to just use a needle and thread and fold over a section of the waist and sew it to make it smaller

Hello,
My daughter has the same problem. She is long and lean. I use a dipaer pin to bunch the waist in the back. It helps and the diaper safety pins won't come unpinned easily. There is an clip you can purchase I saw it at Cotton Babies on Tesson Ferry in South County behind Walgreens across from St. Anthony's Hospital. The clip attaches the pants and shirt togeher. It was kind of expensive about $15 so I didn' t get it but I thought I would tell you about it just in case you wanted to try it. Good luck!

In that size (12m+), I always got pants with the adjuster on the inside of the waist. Other than that, she wore a lot of dresses with tights because they would stay up well. The pants at The Childrens Place should have an adjuster by those sizes. They also have leggings that would stay up pretty well.

Cotton Babies in South Couty across from Saint Anthony's sell decorative clips for kids that fasten the pants to the diaper or shirt to help keep them up. As I typed the suggestion to you I realized that it sounds kind of dorky, but when I saw them in the store they were really cute! You may have to ask for them because the last time they were in the bins by the cash wrap and the time before they were in a table up front so they move around a lot.
