How Does a Vegetable Hater Diet?

Does anybody know of a diet plan that does not involve eating vegetables? I am a meat and potatoes and bread girl! I eat corn and an occasional green bean or two but that's it. And I would like to lose 20 lbs at least! Is there any hope for me?

What can I do next?

You will have to learn to like more veggies if you want a healthy balanced diet. It may just be that you've not had them cooked properly or that you've had a lot of canned veggies. The difference between canned veggies and fresh is night and day. My husband never liked about half the veggies he likes now because his Mom always made them from a can. Get some fresh veggies and have an open mind! What about raw carrots with light ranch dressing or cucumbers with light italian dressing? Keep trying!

Hey J., you will find a vegetable you like, there are so many! Go to a salad bar and take a tiny bit of each and try them all. If you still are sure you don't like any, I agree with putting them in a shake with berries. You can buy the acai berries frozen and organic at HEB and blend them in a smoothie with the ARBONNE Fiber Shake and Figure 8 Vanilla Protien powder. I have to agree with the other girls I love ARBONNE'S Figure 8 weight loss program and vitamins. I lost 37 lbs in just a few months doing this working out and following the South Beach eating plan. Good luck to you, if you want further information, I'm happy to share! Peace Mama, A.

In regard to hating vegetables, I think most people who do just haven't had them cooked in a tasty way. My boys have never had trouble eating them because I add about a tsp. of sugar near the last 5 minutes of cooking a pot of baby carrots, and broccoli type veggies get a healthy butter substitute (like Brommel & Brown's with yogurt) with salt & pepper. You also can't overcook them 'til they're mushy (as my Mom used to!) By the way, I also loosely follow the South Beach Diet plan mentioned earlier. The grilled veggie recipe (with extra-virgin olive oil) in the book is delicious.

However, if none of this helps, the protein shake idea with vitamin supplements is great. It's what I'm doing now using Herbalife since early October of 2007. I haven't tried Arbonne's shakes, but I heard from a representative they're not too tasty, so I'm not going to switch from something I already find delicious & easy. I, too, use the HEB organic frozen fruit along with half an organic banana, plus a bunch of other recipes collected from people using the shakes. I never thought I'd stick with a liquid meal substitute for so long! I did one shake a day just for health reasons (two a day is for losing weight), and I lost at least a pound a week! I was just walking my dog 15 minutes a day for 4 or 5 days. That's it!

Good luck with whatever you decide to do. I could include way more diet tips, but I'll stop for now.

I'm trying the Jessica Seinfeld cookbook on my kids. It gives you a great way to hide veggies in foods that veggie haters will not suspect -- and also cut down on your fats. It will take quite a bit of work to puree your vegetables into unrecognizable texture -- but it is a good way to sneak them into the food.

Good luck. And exercise a lot :)

First off, there isnt a veggie out there I dont like!!! However I can understand not liking any particular food. With me its milk. YUCK!!! Have you thought about beans and legumes? I think that if you prepare beans properly, they can be scrumptious. They are a good source of protein, high in fiber, and generally a low fat food. They are also very filling. Slap those suckers on a little bit of rice, you've got yourself a meal!!!!
Just a thought:)

P.S. Dont forget your Bean-O!!! hahaha:)

I absolutely love taking my multi-vitamins and minerals. They are the Hybrids from Arbonne, they're standardized (meaning they are exactly the same every day you eat them), and they give me so much energy and well being!!

I've also started on the protein and fiber shakes from Arbonne. Those are super yummy! Pair them with the Fizz NRG tabs (stop drinking cola!!) and you'll do well!!

Have you tried making fruit smoothies and adding some green kale to them? My kids don't taste it and it's a super food for you. You could mix some kale in with a protein shake scoop, some bananas, ice, strawberries and kale!! It might have a slight tint to it, but if you put it in an opaque glass, you'll never know the difference!!

Check out my Arbonne site for information!! Id' love to show you how to save 35-50% off!!

I totally understand. "Eat more fruits and vegetables." Over the years, people have found countless ways to ignore that advice. "I don't have time." "It's too much trouble." But as scientists and nutritionists continue to learn more about the disease-fighting and preventive powers found in fruits and vegetables, it's advice we ignore at our peril.

There is no substitute for eating a wide variety of fruits and vegetables, at least 7-13 servings every day. But if you're like most people, you don't eat enough fruits or vegetables or enough variety. And those fruits and vegetables that we do eat tend to be over-processed, over-cooked, or too far removed from the field.

That's why there's Juice Plus+. It's a convenient, affordable, and natural whole food based nutritional product providing nutrition from 17 vegetables, fruits, and grains.

Juice Plus+ is not a vitamin supplement, providing a limited number of handpicked nutrients. Juice Plus+ is a whole food based product providing the wide array of nutrients found in a variety of fruits, vegetables, and grains.

It's the next best thing to fruits and vegetables...because we don't get nearly enough of the real thing every day. I'm a mother of 3 children, who don't care for vegetables too much either. They been taking Juice Plus for almost 3 years and the results have been remarkable. My daughter ( 8 years old) use to suffer from eczema and she hasn't had an outbreak in over a year. My son, (14 years old) suffered with asthma. He's hasn't needed his medication is 2 & 1/2 years. I just started my 21 month old son on Juice Plus 2 weeks ago. We've been using Juice Plus for 3 years now and last week I decided to become a distributor. I've been recommending the product to my patients for a while now. They come back with amazing stories on how much their lives have improved health wise. It only made sense to me. Here is a link to my website http://www.juiceplus.com/nsa/pages/Home.soa?site=ab00393

Research this product and let me know if you're interested. It's being used in hospital around town, MD Anderson Cancer center, Hermann Hospital...ect. in combination with other studies. Good luck.

Hello J.,

I have been drinking a nutritional product called limu moui - a brown seaweed, it taste like apple juice. My 3 year old and 7 year old love it. My 3 year old likes me to put it in her milk. It also helps with a persons metabolism. If you would like to know more go to www.discoverlimu.com. And, if you would like to try it just enter the referral number ###-###-####.

Also, I juice. I have a several recipes that are great. For example, 4 big granny apples and a handful of spinach, you will not taste the spinach only the granny apples. My kids and some members of my church love this combination. They were first a little nervous because of the color, but they loved it. If you need help or either more information about the limu or juicing email me back.

Sincerely,

T. R

I may not be a vegetable hater, but I would definitely say I do not enjoy eating veggies! I have found that I can drink them better than eating them, so I try to drink a V8 almost everyday, just so I know I am getting at least a serving a day! My husband and I like the Slimfast shakes, they really seem to curb your appetite. I think the best thing to do (if you're not already) is to stop all eating at least 3 hours before bed. I personally dropped a pant size by not eating after 5:00, and coupling that with wearing a pedometer and walking 20,0000 steps a day. This has been the best method for me, because I like to eat! I allow myself pretty much anything (within reason, I suppose), but at 5:00pm I stop eating until the next morning - it will amaze you, it did me.
I'm not a doctor, but this is what worked for me!!
Best wishes!

Try having oatmeal for breakfast - (plain)
and salad with grill chicken or boil chicken for lunch - light dressing. (no oil) then have your best for last your beef about the size of a deck of cards, your potatoe plain, no gravy a slice of bread (no butter) before 6:00 p.m. and all the water you can drink all day. but the more veggies the healther you will feel. and notice your clothes will began to losen up. and of course you need to excercise at least 30 to 45 minute a day, or three times a week. GOOD LUCK IT WORKED FOR ME. AND I FEEL GREAT AND YOU WILL TO.

Reducing fats in your diet will help. Also, preparation is crucial. If it tastes good, you're more likely to eat it. You might want to look into Wild Tree - its sauces, oils, mixes, and blends are preservative and additive free. It allows you to healthier foods (no high fructose corn syrup) that are really good! My friend's husband has lost 12 pounds after she started cooking with it. Let me know if you want more info.

I agree with Amy. I am also an Arbonne Representative and I have personally seen very good results with our Figure 8 Weight Loss system. One of my friends in particular not only did not like vegetables, but did not want to give up Long John Silvers! She also did not want to exercise. She lost her goal of two pant sizes using Figure 8. That made a HUGE believer out of me in the Figure 8 system.

This system is natural...nothing to give you the jitters. It natural assists you in eating healthier portions and avoid snacking. You can easily transition off the system when you reach goal weight because you never stop eating normal food. Figure 8 helps you develop better habits that keep you thin after you lose the weight!
