The third shirt has bit the dust now due to "washable" paint at school that won't come out. Any ideas on how to get it out using eco friendly products?

What can I do next?

I've never used their products on washable paint, but Shaklee's Get Clean line can clean just about anything from any surface! I actually became a distributor because I loved them so much and would be happy to send you some free samples to give it a try... just send me your address and I'll get them in the mail to you!

How about lemon juice and putting the item in the sun? I know, not a lot of sun now.......Dish soap, applied before washing, might help, but I don't know how eco-friendly that is. I agree with the mom who said not to dry it in the dryer if the stain is still there.

Consider asking the teacher if your child and any other kid who wants to could have a "paint shirt" that stays at school , to be put on over top of their clothing as a protective layer. Then raid your closet (or Daddy's) and get an old worn shirt that can have the sleeves rolled up (or cut off) at the proper length. Heck, you could go to yard/rummage sales or the thrift store and outfit the entire class for not too much money! Good luck!

I don't know how eco friendly it is but it works - shout advanced. I like that you can treat the stain and through the clothing in the hamper for a day or two. If fact it works better the longer it sits on the stain. It even took out an old grease stain on my favorite black tee shirt. But it does take out washable crayon and paint. Good luck.

Do you wash and rinse with cold water? And, of course, make sure you check before tossing into the dryer since heat will just set stains. If you are and are still having problems, contact the school and let them know. They should double-check their paint or get a different brand. Or just send your kid with play clothes like we always do.

My kids have been covered in washable paint and we've never had a problem of it not getting out. Half the time it'll wash out with just cold water and not detergent (if I see it in time and do a quick dunk in the kitchen sink before tossing in the laundry).

Try soaking the spots in vinegar and then sprinkling baking soda on them. Or, rub baking soda into them and then spray them with vinegar.

fels naptha bar soap found in laundry detergent isle. It is one of the bar options to use if you were to make your own laundry detergent. Wet the stain, rub the bar over it. take a brush and scrub. This is what our preschool teachers recommended for "washable" paint. It works great on a lot of stains too.
