Hello,

I got an invite to go to this in fort worth for this weekend. Has anyone ever been to one of these before. They are talking about child saftly, CPR and SIDS, but I'm worried it might be one of those deals to where they want to sell you something too. Imput would be greatly appreciated.

What can I do next?

I go to them pretty regularly and always enjoy them. I have never had anyone try to sell me anything that I didn't show an interest in first. It's usually set up where you just walk around from vendor to vendor to check out what they are selling or there to discuss. Where is the one at this weekend? I haven't heard about this one. We just went to one in Ft. Worth at the end of March. You should have fun!

hey L.
i did go to one of these.. it was very informative...my husband says he's glad we went. They give you TONS of info...i will say at the very end they do try to sell their cribs/high chairs etc but they also give you a free 3 day/2 night stay at any hotel in the US! :) we enjoyed it as first time parents!!!

I would suggest you take a course at your hospital instead. When we were pregnant we took ours at Plano Presby. It teaches you everything you need to know inclusive of birthing, cleaning, diapering, cpr, and car safety. It was well worth the half day and I think it was like $50 for us as a couple.

My husband and I took a class from the hospital. The class was given by a nurse and they didn't try and sell us anything. You learn Infant CPR, child safety, diapering, feeding, what to do if baby is sick, etc. I don't remember how much it cost, but if you go to the website of your local hospital they should have a list of classes offered and prices. We took ours at HEB Harris Methodist.

We went to one of these put on by BabyTenda. It was basically a scare tactic to get you to buy their crib and high chair. I think it was a waste of time. I agree with others -take a class at a hospital.
