My 2 year old son is going to have to have tubes put in his ears within the next couple of weeks, and we are in the process of deciding which ENT to use for the surgery. We were first referred to Dr. Kenneth Lee out of Childrens Medical Center Legacy. We visited with him and liked him (went through all the hearing tests and are cleared for scheduling surgery with him). However, I have subsequently had a very hard time getting through to the nurses at the office. So, I have been looking into other Ear, Nose, & Throat specialists in the area, trying to make sure that we have the best. We live in the Lewisville/ Flower Mound area. We have an appointment this week with Dr. Bauer in Coppell, who is out of Medical City Childrens. Has anyone had any experience with him? I have also been given the name of Dr. Bramhall at Medical Center of Lewisville (but he is not a pediatric specialist- not sure how important that is). Does anyone have any experience with any of these doctors? What about experience with this surgery? Any advice w3ould be appreciated!
We used Dr Bauer for our daughter and he was great. She had tubes put in this Feb-she had issues because she still kept getting infections-turns out she had to have her adenoids removed and new tubes put in. he also put her on an allergy nasal spray-after 6 months of ear infections she has not had one in 2 months!!! He is a little brief, but he is great-I definately recommend him
We used Dr. Bauer for my daughter's tubes and couldn't have been happier with our choice. Our pediatrician's office refers all of their tube patients to Bauer or Murray in Coppell.
We've used Dr Bauer for both of our kids tubes. Great experience & the best thing we could have done! My son had them last year at 2 years and my daughter just had hers in a week ago at one year old. I"ve had no problems getting the nurse or scheduling appointments. Both of our surgeries were at the Richland Hills Surgery Center & everyone there was great. I used Dr. Bramhall for my son's tubes. He was about 18mos. old when he had them put in. He was a great dr. very informative and told me all of my options. I'm actually taking my step-daughter to seem him next week regarding recurrent strep throat. The surgery was so quick. It took longer for us to get signed in and preped than the actual surgery. It's a little frightening just because they are so little, but he did great. They give him some medicine to put them to sleep, then they take him back to do the surgery, and I swear 15-20 minutes later here comes Dr. Bramhall saying he's done did great. So then we went back there to get my son, and he woke up and was a little clingy. I know some kids react differently to the medication. He wasn't horrible he was just a little irritable. We left the surgery center and went and ate breakfast at IHOP after that, and the kid ate everything in sight. Went home and it was like nothing ever happened.
I don't know about the other dr.'s, so I can't give you any advice on them. Dr. Bramhall isn't specifically a pediatric dr. but he deals a lot with children. I would highly recommend him. THey did the surgery out of Baylor surgery center behind Hooters and all those restaurants near Corporate.

My son had his tongue surgery with Dr. Bauer, & we loved him. I also have a friend (who is an ER nurse) who goes to him, & she loves him. Yes, it is important to use a peds surgery center with ped docs, and that is what Dr. Bauer uses. I would go to him.
we use dr fewins, hes with cook childrens. my 15 month old son will be getting his first set of tubes along with an ABR this Wednesday. from what i hear and what ive seen its a very quick and simple procedure.
