My lovely son decided to mark on his carpet and doors with a dry erase marker he found (no, these items are usually not accessible to him). I was able to get it off the door with the Magic Eraser, however, I'm not sure how to tackle the carpet and don't want to do anything to make it worse in the process. Anyone know how to get black dry erase marker out of carpet?

Thanks!!!

So What Happened?

Thanks for all the suggestions. I was getting nervous that the longer I waited, the more set in it would become. I had some Resolve High Traffic Granules and tried them. They got it right out! I was so relieved!

SOL-U-MEL will get it out. It took off permanent marker from our couch upholstery and I recently used it to get old stains from our carpet. I just used it this weekend to get non-washable marker off the fridge and pen off the furniture. I use it as a stain lifter on clothes too. It’s amazing!

Melaleuca's Prespot has gotten it out for me before. There are other products that have helped depending on the manufacturer of the ink. I actually removed an entire gallon of spilled dark paint from my carpet with Melaleuca's Tub and Tile and a Rainbow vacuum cleaner! Natural enzymes work everytime.

I've had a lot of success with rubbing alcohol or alcohol-based hair spray taking out ink stains.
