Hello Ladies!
I am a big fan of Dr Mercola but I never bought his products. I would like to try his cleanse (New Start Internal cleansing system) but wanted to know if any of you have tried it and if so, if you liked it or not. What about his skin care products? Thanks! Helen

What can I do next?

I heard a well known doctor on Rachel Ray say" A cleanse is worthless, unnecessary and sometimes very harmful". Eating a good balance of raw veggies and fruits do more to sweep the colon clean than anything else. Advertising is a lot of hype!

I have been a big fan too, went to his conference in Chicago in October. I have used many of his products...Ubiquinol, probiotics, purple defense, and Krill Oil but have not tried his cleanse. I would not doubt that it is good though. He has a money back guarantee on all his products, and one time I tried something I did not like and they refunded me, no questions asked. I have used the Dr. Schultz' cleanse and Garden of Life Perfect Cleanse and would most likely try his as well sometime. As far as skin care, I have found quite a few brands at Whole Foods that I like...Ann Webb's line, Jurlique, Dr. Hauschka and John Masters. I mix and match a lot and they are pretty clean with very good results.

Hope this helps.

I have bought his products in the past, but not those particular ones. However, I found customer service to be horrible and I think his products are generally overpriced. You can find whole body cleanses at health food stores or order online. I usually will first try something by buying at a local store and once I find products I like, order online. I prefer iherb.com, but there are others that are reliable and offer really good prices - amazon.com also carries some of these products or has partners that do. iherb.com offers free shipping (over $60 order) and additional discounts depending upon the dollar amount you spend.

Also, the comparisons he has of other cleanse products is bit inaccurate. For example, Renew Life Cleanse Smart also has a two week product (that doesn't have chlorella). So, they were rather self selecting in not comparing themselves to other cleanses that are shorter except for Enzymatic Therapies (I've used that one, as well).

I would recommend you start with a milder/shorter product like Zand, Quick Cleanse, one week or the Renew Life, First Cleanse two week.

I now would never order products free trial or money back stuff. I ordered three products two were suppose to be recommended by Dr Oz and when I went to send them back I got stuck with about $200 shipping and part of the money back. I ordered a Hann Steam floor cleaner and got stuck there too. Better to buy something in the store and return it there. One colon clean said do not take if you are on blood thinners so I could not take it. The wrinkle cream did nothing just a lotion. The steamer did not do a nice job and could not use it on the carpet like it says. I am through with ordering products. I did order from home shopping diamond earings and will see next time I see my mom as I sent them to her. She also told me that flowers I spend a ton on and send to her are not as nice as I think they are. Better money or something I buy but it costs so much to send things. I would not do it. G. W

Helen,

I don't know about Dr. Mercola's cleansing system, but it is good to cleanse our systems periodically. Not sure about his product line either, but if you are looking for natural products without any toxic chemicals that are also safe for the environment, Melaleuca.com has the Nicole Miller line that is all natural as well. You might compare the two. For example, below is a discription of their Night Firming Treatment:

LIFTESSENCE™

Is a natural extract derived from a native New Zealand large tree fern. It helps tighten skin and reduce the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles within 1 hour of application. This natural tree extract is composed of two polysaccharides (simple sugars): glucomannans and arabinogalactan. Glucomannans are water-soluble carbohydrates with a high degree of viscosity, meaning they are able to hold their shape despite high stress levels. Arabinogalactan helps retain moisture and exfoliate skin for improved texture and tone. These two molecules help form an elastic, resistant, and continuous film on the skin’s surface. LIFTESSENCE is also shown to notably improve skin firmness and tone.

Contact me if you would like a catalog of their full line.

hi there
I have the cleanse (if you meant the citrus cleanse) and the facial creams. While they are all natural and smell great..... I find that the face cream is not emollient enough... I think his creams are good if you don't need a RICH moisturizer but for me, I like Dr. Hauschka's rose cream... As for the cleanse, It's a bit drying if you ask me, albeit it does "cleanse" overall, I don't NOT like his products, I just don't think they are right for my skin type, which in my opinion although I don't have dry skin, as I age, I just find that I like a richer cream that doesn't feel oily.. I also have the lemon scrub... it's ok.. smells great, but it kinda leaves a film on the face. although, I know the film I am feeling is added oil, I just don't like it..
again, Hauschka products are the ones I like... I have tried dozens of products and I always go back to my Rose Cream.......

Hi Helen,
As a wellness educator, before I would use any supplement, I make sure there are at least clinical studies on the actual product, if not peer-reviewed research. Otherwise you don't know what you are getting and if it is safe.
Every company can get testimonials and that is great. We all love hearing those. But there has to be science to back it up.
