I wasn't sure what to post this under. I live in a rented townhouse and the whole bottom floor is wood floor. My kids have used markers, crayons, pens, whiteout on this floor. I need help with getting these things off. I do not want to lose our deposit. If you can help me please do. I am really concerned about the whiteout and marker marks.
thank you
S.

i swear by mr clean magic erasers... they work on everything! follow up by thoroughly mopping with special wood floor cleaner (they almost always smell like orange), and they leave the floor beautiful and glossy. now, if its not real hardwood and that fake stuff, you can mop it with diluted mr clean or any regular, bleach free cleaner. if youre nervous about the magic eraser, test a small spot on a concealed area first... but ive never had a problem with it!! good luck!

Hi!
Murphy's Oil Soap is awesome! Dampen a wash cloth, and apply soap to cloth, undiluted, to each area. Rub it in, add more as needed. you will need to rinse it with fresh water, but it is worth the effort. Then, clean entire area with it properly diluted. At full strength, I have used it to get permanent marker ink off of my light oak table. I feel your pain, as I have a house full of "artists" as well!
Best of luck!

My recommendation would be Mr. Clean Magic Eraser. I haven't found anything it won't clean up.

I use Goof Off (Made by the same company who does goo be gone) when I am trying to get off serious stuff - even has helped me get latex wall paint off my hardwood floors!

I would also suggest the Mr. Clean Magic Erasers and I would make sure to test a spot first to be certain it is not taking the finish off also. I would recommend getting the brand name ones. I tried the Wal-Mart brand and they left white marks all over my walls after removing the spots. I have never had that problem with the original brand ones.
