Magic eraser...if you dont have the extra money for it, Baby wipes will do the trick -- just takes a little more elbow grease to scrub it off.

Hi A., I know that Mr. Clean eraser works on a lot of things on the walls. They aren't that expensive and they work for more than just crayons on walls. I hope that helps you.

Hey there. I just wanted to let you know that my friend posted a bulletin on myspace about that Mr. Clean Magic Eraser. I know they work great and stuff, and you probably should use it to get rid of the crayon...just don't let your kids touch it. This bulletin was a story of a 4 year old boy who was doing chores with mom and he was removing crayon from the wall. Anyway, it got on his arms or whatever and it burned him so bad. There were pictures of it and it was awful. Then when she called poison control they said that they get SO many calls of kids having burns from them and they can't believe there are no labels yet on the packaging. Not to say they are horrible...I KNOW they work...just I noticed that you have a 4 year old. My 4 year old does work with me sometimes and I thought it was worth passing on that info. :)

Hi A.,
Try a "Magic Eraser". It's a cleaning thing that looks like a piece of foam, and can work miracles -- especially on crayon.
Good luck,

try making a paste with baking soda and water. it is abrasive enough to remove stuff from surfaces but not abrasive enough to scratch (works great on stainless steel sinks too!).

mr. clean magic erasers..or goo gone (you could get it at dollar stores, i think). goo gone might be a little too much for your paint though, but i use the magic erasers on my walls all the time to get little grease or dirt spots off..they're great! go for just the regular ones first, before going for the ones with extra's...i've found that the regular ones work better..maybe i'm just not using the "improved" ones the right way though.haha
Good luck!

Break down the crayon mark to remove it.
Bleach is better at masking and bleaching a mark to make it less visible.

Rubbing alcohol is better for disolving and breaking down adhesives and oils based marks. Goo gone or goof off work on crayon...Magic eraser is awesome...but on flat paint??? On a flat paint you need to be careful you do not stain it with the oils of goof off or scrub it off with the eraser or just disolve the paint with chemicals.

Find somewhere on the wall not very visible and test the paint to see if it is scrubable. If it is a scrubable paint...The magic eraser (as previously recomended) DOES work! If not...you may remove the paint....Goof off will work but then you have to wash off the oil residu with a soap and scrubable paint will tolerate that too.

Crayon is bad....if it is a generic crayon it leaves a thick wax. you need to scratch the majority off with your nail or a DRY green scouring pad. Crayola penetrates into the pores better...You may want to use a blow dryer to warm it up before wiping it with a very hot damp rag.

DO NOT try to paint over it until you remove it.

If you are going to touch up the wall after all else fails...
and use a touch of nail polish remover or paint thinner on a rag. Remove all the color before painting over it or it WILL bleed. Crayon and markers are awful to cover.

But prior to that....
I suggest you make the culprit who made the mark, spend a very long time scrubbing it.
When their arms are tired, they will be more careful to not ever make a mark on a wall again.

Sometimes after i remove a crayon mark, my wall then has a perment wet looking mark, but some of my walls you would never of noiticed anything was on them.

My son use to love drawing his imaginary friends on the wall. He's now 7 years old and my younger son has started he's now 3. The best way to remove crayon off the wall if you can get the mister clean eraser gentle that works great if not an eraser from a pencil will work just as well it may take alot longer though it is a very slow process. You have to start at the small point and continue in small areas, also wiping the eraser when it gets full of crayon. Good luck I hope this helped.

Hit up your local supermarket or Wal-Mart and walk down the detergent aisle. Buy a box of Mr. Clean Magic Erasers. They are the greatest thing ever. Not only will they get the crayon off of your walls (and leave the paint), but they work GREAT on bathtubs and showers (removing soap scum) and just about anything else you want clean (smudged walls) etc. I love the product. Once you use them you'll love them too.
