My DD has a decent head of hair. She is 11 months old, and has enought that I can give her little pigtails (If I can get her to hold still long enough... lol.) Its starting to get into her eyes a lot, but it's still short enought that it does that forward-falling thing babies hair does, if you know what I'm talking about. (where it looks like the bangs start at the crown of her head) I can't quite get it to part or comb backward yet... but I don't want to trim her 'bangs' and cut the rest of her hair too. I DID ponytail her hair where I wanted to start her bangs, and trimmed that... but the rest of her hair still falls in her eyes too. I have tried 'clipping' her hair off to the side (Using alligator clips, and those 'snap' clip things), but of course it's baby-fine, so it won't stay. I could ponytail it every day... but that's such a hassle!!! LOL! (Plus... I don't like putting it up too much until it gets some strength to it...) What do you do with your baby's hair when it gets to this point? Am I going to have to just deal with it until it grows out, or is there some kind of clip that works wonders? :)

What can I do next?

You could try a headband if she will keep it on. My daughter also had a lot of hair from the day she was born. I just put it up in a "sprout" on top of her head until it got longer.

They make these clips with this kind of rubber liner that grips the hair and holds pretty well. My daughter also has baby fine hair and those worked for us... as long as she didn't put her head down on the carpet and smoosh around as little ones often do. If she kept her head off the floor they stayed well, if she pulled at them or rubbed her head on the floor, well. Nothing can help that really.

We eventually broke down and trimmed her hair.

There are little alligator clips that have a little rubber like thing in them that holds to the hair. I just put my daughter's hair in one of those clips right in the middle, just took the bangs and either put them straight back on top or off to the side. Looked very cute. I also put the top bangs and a bit of the top hair to blend it all together in a small pony tail. sides fall down and the bangs are just back out of her face. I think I got rid of all of my clips but if I find some, I can mail them to you if you are interested. As a matter of fact, I bought them on ebay so you may search on there. A mom off of here gave me that advice a few years ago. :o)
