My baby is two months old and I havent sent our her birth announcements yet! I was trying to get a professional picture taken for the announcements, but there has just been time conflicts with our photographer, so I just took a really cute pic myself and got some announcements made. Plus, now shes smiling and its just precious. Are people going to think Im crazy for sending them out 2 months late? There is a lot of family that hasnt meet her yet and Im sure they would still appreciate a pic and details. I feel like a slacker!

What can I do next?

I sent mine out 3 months late. I think we put too much pressure on ourselves. Most people understand that after having a baby there is are lot of adjustments to be made and it takes some time to get used to the new living situation. I'm actually more surprised if I get them in the first month that the mom could actually find time to get the invitations done.

Heck no! Send 'em out!
If they think you're crazy, maybe they don't remember/haven't experienced life w/ a newborn. ;)
People will/should be so happy to get a pic of smiling baby girl mixed in w/ the usual bills and useless coupons. :)
You're not a slacker!

Big deal? No. My niece had a baby last year and just recently got around to sending out announcements.

You're not a slacker! I know some people who have waited to combine them with Christmas cards, other holidays, etc. Announcements are not required and people should not expect them.

Send them- many people wait for the announcement to call/send gifts b/c they don't want to overwhelm the new parents!

Honestly, we did ours very quickly b/c it was my mom's project while she was helping out during the first month and I love taking pictures but most of our friends send them out a month or two after the bundle arrives!

PEOPLE LOVE BABY PICTURES! Send them!

I have a 5 1/2 week old and still need to get mine done, too (along with some thanks you notes, too)! It is hard work taking care of a newborn and they keep you super busy. People understand that. If they don't they don't deserve a picture of your beautiful baby! LOL
