Anyone Feel Sick Before Labor?

Hi Moms. I've just made it to 37 weeks on Sunday and since then been allowed off bed rest (on BR since 28 weeks) and have stopped taking my medication to prevent contractions (don't worry - doctor's orders). Today I have not felt very well. A mix between a stomach ache and the feeling that I might have diarrhea, yet I'm not throwing up nor have I had diarrhea (TMI: stools are softer, but not super loose as many sites say happens when labor is approaching).I have been having some irrgular, but strong contractions and I keep getting that pressure feeling in my pelvic region (almost like I need to use the restroom). Just wondering if any moms felt a bit icky before labor began or if you knew whether or not it might be a sign... With my first baby, my water broke at 35 weeks, so it was quite unexpected. This time, since I've made it full term, I must be overly anxious and looking for any sign to tell me it's approaching... two very different experiences :) Thanks, Moms!

What can I do next?

Oh yes definitely. I had quite a bit of stomach discomfort before labor began with almost all of my deliveries. With my last, I definitely remember vomiting once or twice a day in the final days (and many times while actually in labor - very appealing eh?). Best of luck to you - sounds like you're definitely meeting your baby soon.

Yes, I was sick before each labor and delivery. It was one of my signs of going into labor~ Maybe your body is telling you its really close to labor. Hang in there and happy birthing!

Yep, with my last one, I felt pretty nauseated the day before I had here... Could be that you are about to go into labor...

Yes, I get a sore throat. I feel like I am getting a cold right before labor starts. I think I have gotten a slightly upset stomach too, but I don't get that every time.

I just had my baby two weeks ago. I was 38.5 weeks along. I had a sore throat around 10-11pm. I went to bed, woke up at midnight feeling not quite right. I was starving (another sign of labor for me). I ate a ton. Went back to bed, fell asleep for a couple hours. Then I woke up in labor enough that I couldn't sleep.

I had been having contractions for weeks, but ti definitely picked up. I had been having a lot of pressure down there for weeks, but that got worse too!

I have no idea if you're really about to be in labor, but I wouldn't be surprised! Feeling sick is definitely a sign before it arrives.

My son was born on a sunday. The friday before i was throwing up and it felt like a elephant was sitting on my hips. Sat i had all i could do to walk it hurt so bad. At 3 am on sunday my water broke. I never went through any of this with my daughter. I know they say every pregnacy is different and they sure are right. My daughter was easy. I had really bad heartburn with her, that was it. With my son i had morning sickness really bad, heartburn, heat got to me, just felt sick all the time. I actually lost weight during this pregnancy cause i didnt want to eat. I am overweight so dr never questioned the weight loss. Since beginning of pregnancy till now i lost 45.5 pounds. He was born in sept.
Best of luck to you and congrats! :-)
