So What Happened?

I managed to keep the secret until Valentine's Day and I bought a count-down clock set to my due date. I left it on his side of the bed to find after his morning shower. It was perfect and a great surprise for V-Day.

Get a bag of newborn diapers and put them in his favorite chair or on his pillow. Don't say anthing, don't get emotional -- just wait until he notices they are for a newborn. Men can be dense, it might take a week. Just keep putting them where he will see them.

Or wait until Valentine's Day and get a cake, ask the cake decorater to write something like Happy Valentine's Day DADDY!!!

A friend posted, on FB, a picture of her shoes, a pair of baby shoes and a pair of husbands shoes for their announcement. Really cute. Congrats!

How about a coupon book you make up yourself, with a parking map for the hospital parking lot (put a "redeemable on X date" block on it, using your approximate due date). Then put in a job list, including things like "clean closets in response to nesting instinct" or a grocery list with whatever your cravings were before (or what you think they will be). Or you could do the stereotypical things: sardines, ice cream, pickles, saltines, ginger ale. Then a couple of catalog sheets or on-line printouts/sources for the things you'd like - pregnancy pillow, rocker, crib, and so on. You could put things on a calendar (things like "ultrasound" or "Monthly" or "weekly checkups", or you could make a bulletin board of all of the above and just put it in a place where he'll see it. Don't say anything - just wait until he sees it. If he's really dense, you can say, "Honey, is there anything on the calendar for February 20th?" or whatever date you've entered something in.

Have fun!

I don't have a good one. But I wanted to read answers bc I need to announce baby #3 to friends and extended family. I'm sure I could just post on fb but I like to be a little more original.

Make a card (you can get really artistic with scrapbooking supplies) and include a sonogram photo. Then mail it to him so as he goes through the stack of mail he'll get a wonderful surprise! It will also double as a great keepsake. ;-) Congratulations!

Have an older child wear a "big sister" or "big brother" shirt (which you can make for cheap with a Hobby Lobby decal and tee) and just see if he notices...
Make a "Congratulations Dad, we're pregnant!" sign and put it on the bathroom mirror before he wakes up...

Or just check out pinterest. They have tons of ideas!
Good luck!

I remember an episode of Full House, where Becky fixes a meal consisting of baby carrots, baby back ribs, and other "baby"-sized things.

This is not for hubby but is a good one for friends. My hairdresser is having a baby and we have all been waiting to see what it is. She and her hubby took some photos and posted on facebook for us all. first one is her and him holding her tummy. second one is them holding a big moving type box. third one is them opening the top flaps. last one is them seeing blue balloons flying out of the box. it was a fun way to see it.
