9:00 p.m. Baby Bed Time- When Do They Transition to Early Bed Time?

9 p.m. or later is when I get my 6 mo. old baby down. This is her natural schedule. I remember my first baby going down by7:00, but cannot remember when this transition took place. I'd love to start putting her down earlier, but my efforts don't seem to make a difference. She falls asleep when she's good and ready. Am I mistaken to think that this transition is going to occur naturally?

(last feeding is before bed (8:30), she only takes two good naps a morning and an early afternoon nap. a third cat nap (10-15 min) around 5:00, but only if she is in the Ergo baby. She takes a night time feeding around 3:00 a.m. (occasionally she wakes twice to feed). and her up time is 7:00 a.m.)

What can I do next?

Both of my kids have been in bed by 7pm - or ealier, my 5mo goes to be around 6 every night - by 8 weeks.
It was not a natural transition for my kids. I just started their bedtime routines at that time and that's when I put them down. Takes a little playing around to find that sweet spot of time. That's how I got to 6 with my daughter - she's just ready at that time every night, and goes down for 11 hrs now.
I would eliminate that last nap and just put her to bed between 6:30-7.
You might find that she drops the 3am feeding.

When is the baby's last nap of the day? What time does the baby tend to get up for the day? Finally, does she still take an overnight feeding?

My 20 week transitioned to an earlier bedtime naturally at 16 weeks. You can try cutting it back by 15 minutes a day if you want to move it earlier. Or cut out the last catnap of the day and put down early for bed - say around 6:30 or so.
My daughter goes to bed at 7:00, wakes once a night to eat, and wakes for the day between 6:30-7:00 AM. She takes three naps- #1- 9-10AM, #2 12:30-2:00, #3- 4:00- 4:30. Bed promptly at 7.
Hope this helps!

I agree with Manda. The fact that your daughter only takes her third nap if she's in the Ergo makes me think that she doesn't necessarily need it. Could you try cutting that one out and see what happens? I've heard from a few different sources that you should try not to let your baby nap after 5pm. My daughter transitioned to 7pm bedtime at around 3 months (also when she started daycare, so that may have had something to do with it), but I don't think that's necessarily typical. I think everybody is different and has their own sleep cycle. How long are her daytime naps usually?

We did not even have a bedtime for DS until he was 1 (and only then because his daycare decreased his daytime naps from whenever he felt like to 1 scheduled one at that age). We put him in his crib after his last feeding/when we went to bed, generally 11-11:30. If he was tired, he would sleep anywhere - crib, stroller, carseat, floor, lap didn't matter at all. He worked on his own schedule which looked like this - eat, change diaper, play, sleep, repeat q 3 hours (he stopped needing a night time feeding at 16-1/2 weeks).
