My daughter's first Birthday is coming up (St. Patrick's Day). There will be about 20 adults in attendance at her party--family and close friends. The only child will be the Birthday girl. The party will be on a Saturday afternoon. I'm looking for some games to help keep things moving. We have a few yard games already (i.e. bean bag toss), but the weather may not cooperate. Our house is rather small, so games that require little set-up/space are preferred. All suggestions are welcome. Thanks!!

What can I do next?

Another cool game for the adults is a milestone guess game. Set up about 10 different miltestones your daughter achieved and at what month. Give the guest some paper and let them guess what month each milestone (you chose to put in the game) was achieved by your daughter. It will be fun, and all the talk will be about your baby girl. It will be fun.

My friend did this at her son's 1st birthday and it was fun for all the guests. She counted (with gloves I'm sure) M&M's (but you could use gold fish crackers or other sweets) and put them in a clear jar. She had a sign up sheet and each guest wrote down their guess for how many M&M's were in the jar. The one that came closest won! She did two jars...so it was fun and friendly competition for the adults.

I haven't heard of adult games either at a kids party, but some games already mentioned sound fun.

Another idea that I played at a baby shower - get 6 clean diapers. Get 6 different snack-sized chocolate candy bars. Put a candy bar in a diaper, then in the microwave a little bit, so the candy bar melts a little. Maybe mash it up. Label the diapers numbers 1-6. On a paper, the adults number 1-6 and they must identify (through touching, or by opening the diaper and sniffing) each candy bar. The winner gets a prize. This game is hilarious b/c a whole bunch of adults are sitting around with their noses up to these brown yucky-looking diapers. Makes for a good laugh and a good picture or two.

If the adults coming don't have kids of their own, another game might be where they have to finish the lyric to the common kid song or fiill in the blank on a common kid story.

Another idea - have a taste test where the adults have to correctly identify the baby food! Gross, but fun!

If you're daughter is the only child there, just make sure you have plenty of food and snacks for the adults. The m&m guessing game sounds like fun but since 1 yr old attention spans are short the party should be short too.
Maybe a small cake or special cupcake just for the birthday girl to make a big mess out of. Take lots of photos!
