UTI / VCUG For 11 Month Old

My 11 month old has a UTI and just started antibiotics. Her doctor recommended that she get a sonogram of her bladder and kidneys and a VCUG. I am a little apprehensive about the VCUG since it is a more invasive procedure with radiation and since this is her first and only urinary infection. It seems as though we should wait and see if it is reoccuring before we do that level of testing. Has anyone else dealt with this type of problem, this type of test? With our first, we purchased an Eddie Bauer duffle style diaper bag and while it was good and unisex so my husband would carry it, it was huge and awkward to carry! What Should I Do for Diaper Rash?

I think my 2 month old son has some diaper rash on the inside of his thighs and his lower stomach above his diaper. I have never seen or felt diaper rash so I'm not sure if that is what it is. The skin is bumpy and feels leathery. I have applied some A+D Ointment on it but I'm not seeing a difference. Do any other moms have any suggestions of anything else I should be applying? Hello Moms, I'm about to start buying diapers for my new bundle of job but every time I find myself in the diaper aisle, I can't decide which ones to get!
