Behavior in Church

Hi Everybody, My husband was in a golf tournament this am and I took my 3 yr old to church by myself. I had snacks, juice, and pencil / paper activity...it occupied him for about 25 mins, and then his behavior when nuts. He would not use volume control with his voice, drew on the pew with his pencil, even after I told him to keep it on the paper, stomped his feet to make loud sounds, etc...I took him out twice and made him sit on the naughty steps. They were having a social cookie hour after the service, but after the third time of...

What to Do About the Bully

My daughter has had a problem with a certain girl at school for 2 years now. They are both in 2nd grade. I have talked to the principle about the issues and thought it had been resolved but the little girl keeps seeking my daughter out to make fun of her clothes, hair, shoes etc... The problem is is that the little girls mom is an employee at the school. The little girl was suppose to get detention but that some how slipped through the cracks and she never did serve it and she knows it. She tells my daughter that all her mom has to do is...

How to Survive a 13 Hour Plane Trip with a 17 Month Old??

My husband and I are flying from West coast US to Australia next month with our 17 month old son. His favorite word is down and he is NOT a cuddler!!! I am starting to collect a few ideas on how to get through this flight (plus the 2 3-hour flights on either side of it). My pediatricians only advice was to not do it... this is not an option!! We will be there for 3 weeks and then have the same flight pattern home. Has anyone been in the same spot? What about using benadryl or something to help him sleep? (mind you, I am NOT a fan of...

2 Year Old Won't Stop Saying NO!

My 2.5 year old son will NOT stop telling us No all of the time. I have put him in time out for saying No, and he gets on his bed, and says No again and gets off. I put him back on again and again and he still says No. What type of punishment for this type of disrespect is appropriate? Do I wash his mouth out with soap? Ignoring it does not work, he just says it louder. After several responses - let me clarify this situation with some more examples. He not only says No to everything, he yells no at me when I ask him to do something,...

23 Month Old Super Emotional in the Morning

My daughter is almost 23 months old and lately has been waking up very emotional in the mornings. She cries and cries for anywhere from 15-45 mins. She only calms down if I pick her up and hold her but I have to be standing up and holding her. Otherwise she starts crying again. And sometimes even holding her doesnt calm her down. She is gettting at least 12 hours of sleep so I know she isnt still tired. She used to wake up and be excited and happy and immediately start playing with our dogs. Now its just drama in the morning. Anyone else...
