My usual bluebonnet spot is barren this year! Does anyone know of a good spot in northeast tarrant county (mid-cities) or Irving area?

If you are willing to make the Grapevine, there is a great spot. If you take 114, go past the main street exit. Take the next exit (the name escapes me at the moment) and make a u - turn. On the right you'll see three or four car dealerships. Park at the Ford dealership. From the highway it looks like a vacant lot, but once you get closer you'll find a huge field in a safe location. There were ant hills, so watch where you step and check carefully before you set your babies down.

April 17-19 is The Bluebonnet Festival in Ennis, Texas. There are bluebonnet trails, all kinds of fun things to see and do.

I was on 114 by Freeport Pkwy and saw lots of bluebonnets. They were away from the highway and there was an empty parking lot to park in. It might be worth checking out!

I live in Las Colinas and there is a really great spot that I found. It's off Las Colinas Blvd behind Las Colinas Medical Center. It is just south of 161 (George Bush Freeway). It is such a great spot because the road is not busy at all. I got some great pictures there and it is best in the evening because the sun isn't too bright and the lighting is just perfect. I almost didn't want to tell anyone about this spot because it is so nice. Have fun!

There's a nice spot on Bear Creek Pkwy, just east of Preston Rd. I've seen people taking picutres there several times.

I know this isn't in the area that you requested but yesterday we drove to Jacksboro and along Jacksboro Highway off 820 a little past Azle there were sooooooo many bluebonnnets. We were going to the cemetary in Jermyn and I had taken the camera out of the car and wasn't able to get pics with daughter-it would have been perfect.

Lots of bluebonnets along I-30 west of downtown Fort Worth. They're called "non-mowing areas", and they're still heavily flowered, and if we get rain tomorrow, maybe they'll bloom more and last a bit longer, but they're clearly no longer in their prime. I haven't been east into mid-cities lately, so I'm not sure about places closer to you.
