Looking for Great Bluebonnet Picture Taking Locations!

121 South to 114 West
114 West to the (business 114 )Texan Trail exit - It's the 1st exit when you get on 114.
Stay on the service road. Once you go through the first light, you'll see several car dealerships along the right.
Just after the Ford Dealership is a small road. Turn right. Voila! Fields on your right and left!

114 West to the Main St. Exit (2nd exit when you get on 114)
Turn RIGHT at the light (Main St.)
a short way down on the RIGHT, you'll see a Baymont Inn (it's set a little off the Main St., but you can figure out how to get to it once you see it.)
Go there. Park in the back of their parking lot behind the hotel = fields with bluebonnets and "safe parking".

Don't know of any places in Southlake but I finally found one tiny patch in Denton that will make great pictures. They are really hard to find around here!!!

We usually do the fields next to the Ford dealership in Grapevine, if you go down the side street and turn right at the stop sign you can turn into the Ford dealership's parking lot, they usually don't mind if you use the spots at the back of the lot. There are also generally quite a few along side the slopes of the exit ramps near Alliance Airport (I-35W) they're undeveloped enough for the most part so that you can park and head down the slopes away from the highway. Just watch for snakes around there.

We are in Austin and the local newspaper keeps a daily post of best locations.. They are pretty spectacular down here right now.. They are sent in by the readers, Check your local papers and see if they are doing the same..

The bluebonnets are thick this year thanks to all the rain but you'd better hurry before the weeds overtake them. Spur 408 (which connects Loop 12 with I-20) in southwest Dallas has some high slopes that are usually pretty good (and away from the passing cars). There's also a decent patch in a community garden on Carriage Street in Carrollton (west of intersection at Marsh and Carriage, south of Keller Springs) that is good for close-ups.
