Looking for a Good Place to Take Pictures with the Bluebonnets

Does anyone know of some good places in the DFW area to take pictures in the bluebonnets. I have seen some patches here and there but nothing that looked really good for taking pictures. I'd prefer to not have to park on the side of a highway as well if at all possible. Thanks for any suggestions.

Thanks so much for all the responses. We went to the nearest place I was told about, at I-35 and Meacham and took some great pictures! That field of bluebonnets is great and we saw several other people out there taking pictures.

I know this is a long drive but in Ennis there is a park calles Bluebonnet Park and usually the Bluebonnets are beautiful. There is picnic area, Perch pond, picnic tables and more.

K., I just took my son today. I teach in S. Keller/FW , so it's pretty close to you. Go down 35, exit Meacham. U-turn around and park in the Shell station. The empty commercial lot between the Shell station and the hotel (probably 2-3 acres) is COVERED. I can e-mail you a pic if you want to see.

K. - If you can travel a little, Hwy. 377 South towards Granbury is absolutely beautiful. I've taken pictures of my kids somewhere along that highway for 15 or so years. Another tip, take along a little step-stool for you to stand on while you shoot the picture looking down on your daughter. The frame around her will be all bluebonnets with her in the center. Also, make sure that you are either in all shade or all sun. That way you don't get the dappled effect. Good luck.

If you exit Solana/Kirkwood off of 114 and take a right (toward the Marriott), there are bluebonnets there. You will be safe from traffic, but go on the weekend. There are a bunch of offices over there so lots of people during the week.

The city of Richardson. They have a whole field full of bluebonnets around city hall & their public library (parking available at the library). It is on Arapaho Rd, just off of 75 central expy (west side).

On Winscott in Benbrook in front of the Golf Putting place there is a big area and it is a lot safer than the highway! Its right down from the YMCA.

We took great pictures on Sunday at Zion Cemetary in Frisco. It is off FM 423 north of El Dorado Parkway. It sounds weird to go to a cemetary but the hill leading up to it has tons of bluebonnets and no part of the cemetary is cisible in the picture.

This is a little out of the way for you, but in far SW Dallas on Hwy 1382 (turn south on 1382 off of I-20...this is either 3 or 4 exits east of 360), there are some FABULOUS large patches of bluebonnets. While 1382 is technically a "highway", it's not an interstate and there are ample shoulders to pull onto. The traffic flow is light. The bluebonnets are not RIGHT next to the road either...you'll have to walk a short distance away, so you are away from the road. Have fun! We took some pictures on 1382 last weekend (and the weekend before when they weren't quite as plentiful) and they turned out really well.
