I am looking for a beautiful place to take bridal portraits for my clients. (the Dallas Aboretum does not count.
I need a place that is either free or reasonably priced. I will offer a free mini session for the person who has the best place. The only place I use right now is the aboretum, but surely there are some other beautiful places DFW.
thank you so much for your time,
D.

Hey Des!

Hope all's going well with you!

Have you checked out the Little Chapel in the Woods @ Texas Women's University in Denton? It's been awhile since I've been there, but seems like they had some nice garden areas.

There's a park in downtown Plano that has a gazebo, a small pond with a cute bridge that goes over it, trees, etc. We took our Christmas card picture there. It's called Haggard Park, on 15th Street, just east of Central Expressway (75)....

I can email you a copy of our Christmas picture if you'd like -- of course that doesn't really show the park much.
Good luck!

I suggest Prairie Creek Park in Richardson, it is just West of 75 on Campbell. There is a waterfall there that makes for an awesome background.

Also, Versailles Park in Dallas and the Las Colinas canals make wonderful (free!) settings.

Also, places like Mockingbird Station make a great background for the more cutting edge, non-traditional type brides.

The church next to SMU is pretty awesome! I took some color and black and whites there and they are great. The black and whites (i have been told) look alot like the Este-Lotor(spl?) ads they used to run.

Good luck and let me know if I get the free mini session :-)

I'm not sure if this would work or not, but there is a beautiful park at Spring Creek and Preston called Lakeside Park. They have a huge pond and a small waterfall at one end.

Or you could try the Turtle Creek area in the Park Cities. I am not sure the name of the park. Probably something really obvious like Turtle Creek Park? Good luck!

Hey D. it's K. (Continuum Marketing K.). Couple came to my head: Southfork Ranch or the Japanese Gardens in Fort Worth.

If I think of any other locations I'll email you.

Take care and good luck

Hi D.,
A couple of places that I can think of:
1. A little known wooded area in Richardson that my husband used to propose that is off Collins and Lookout(?) behind the USDATA building. There is a creek that has a pretty rock waterfall, etc.
2. The Twin Creeks area has a few spots. My parents live there and we took our engagement pix there - around the entrance and also on some of the old wooden bridges in the wooded areas of the golf course.
3. There is a field of bluebonnets that is amazing over behind the Frito Lay complex off Legacy in Plano - perfect for a spring time bridal picture or some fun engagement pix. We take the kids there for pix - more bluebonnets and less dangerous than the local highways for small children.
Hope that helps! Let me know if one of these was your favorite since we are on a budget for pictures this year.
Good luck! A.

Hi D.,
Prather Park in Highland Park is fantastic. Exit Knox off 75 and go to the end. You can either go right or left. There is very good lighting (morning or after 6pm the best). It has trees, bridges, creeks, ledges, and lakes and lots of great rocks. Check it out! You will love it!!
Prather Park
4660 Drexel Drive
Only bad thing is there are no bathrooms.
Hope this works for you!
