Where to Work Out?? HELP ME!!!!!!

I injured my back years ago and am still paying the price for it. I am ready to get back into working out and everything I am doing seems to bring that old injury right back. Which, I am sure, ultimately means I am either using the wrong form, overdoing it, not stretching appropriately, etc. I am at the point I am scared to do anything on my own. I want to find a personal training studio that does not cost me my life's savings or something similar to get me back on track. Does anyone have any suggestions?

I want to make sure it is someone who knows how to work with lower back issues, etc.

I prefer to stay near Frisco, W. Plano, Carrollton, Lewisville, The Colony and/or Little Elm area.

Thanks in advance!

What can I do next?

If you have insurance, try seeing an ortho back specialist or ask you regular dr for a prescription for physical therapy, and get advice from one of them before working out, to make sure you don't do yourself more harm than good. They can also give you some handouts of exercises. In my experience, personal trainers are not sufficiently qualified to give good advice on avoiding re-injury from a major problem.

The Rosemeade rec center in Carrollton has personal trainers for 30 mins at $30 but most are 60 min sessions im not sure of the price cuz each one has a different price.

Good luck

Check out Crull Fitness. I go to the one on Richardson because it as an on site chiropractor who has helped me so much with rehabilitating after a surgery. She communicates with the trainner so both are on the same page on what I need to do. I think monthly it is only 35 dollars and they have great specials for personal trainning. Dr. Wendy Scott is the chiropractor.
Hope you feel better soon!

Try the Cooper Fitness Center off the 121(or they also have a Dallas location). I bet your insurance will cover part of the cost, you should call them and ask about that.

I worked out at 24 hour fitness in Little Elm before I injured my back last July and like you I was afraid to do anything once the issue was mostly resolved. It has never quite been the same. I really wanted to work on strengthening my core and some other things to help avoid further back issues. I ended up working with a personal trainer named Marsha at 24 Hour Fitness who also had a bad back injury at one point. She came highly recommended and she was great to work with. She is in great shape and pushing 60 I think so she will push you but no too hard. She looked at the exercises my chiropractor had me doing and built on that. She really got me back on track with working out and my back has done well. Feel free to PM me if you have more questions. I know she is still working there. I just saw her a few days ago. It is around $32/ month to work out there and the hourly fee for the trainer is based on how many sessions you buy at once but her rate was comparable to other trainers' fees.
