What's the Best 1St Razor?

Pretty soon my daughter will have to start shaving her underarms. My "first" razor was an electric one, but that was centuries ago, and now I just use my husband's throw-away ones (I know, shame on me...not environmentally sound). What have most of you moms that have been through this already bought for your daughter's? Thanks.

What can I do next?

Take her to be waxed!
I never shaved my legs - only waxed- wished I started waxing my underarms sooner (that's all I do now & have been for years now)

My absolute favorite is the Schick Intuition. You don't need shaving cream because it comes with the bar right on it, and you can get it for sensitive skin. I've never had a single cut or bumps with it. It shaves closely but not painfully. I had to use a Venus Embrace a couple of months ago because there must have been a production lag in my Intuition (both stores I go to were out of the refills and the hand thingie, and my hand thingie at home was so old it was getting moldy) and I've hated it. I get cuts with it, have to use shaving cream, and it's awkward in my hand. Then my 11 year old snuck using it and keeps getting cut. ::sigh:: Although she's now sneaking my new Intuition and no cuts. :-)

So my recommendation is, obviously, Schick Intuition. I would do a commercial for them.

I have to also second the Schick Intuition. They are more expensive, BUT the convenience and safety of them is AWESOME. I can use one razor 2-3 times....and that's a lot of surface area. :)

I don't think it cuts as deeply as other razors, and that IS why I like it. Never any knicks or cuts. It will be what I have my daughters use when the time comes (unless something else comes out that is better).

Super easy to use. No shaving gel or cream. Great for quick shaves. I could also do a commercial for them!

Venus Embrace is very smooth and safe. My daughter has been using one for several years and I finally got one for myself. It turned out to be far better than the men's razor I had been using-- while the blades are somewhat similar, the Venus' handle and blade assembly are correctly shaped and angled for women. Very comfortable to use.

My daughter and I both use the Venus, too. She just started shaving her legs this summer.

I would use a regular (not disposable) Venus razor. It's pretty hard to cut yourself with one of them.

I let her try several different kinds until she found one she liked. She likes Venus.

I give my girls the same one I use, the "Venus" razor/blades.
Really, they are all the same. My husband's Gillette "for men" is great too.
Anything but the cheap disposable razors, that's what tears up your skin :(

I like Gillette Venus. I've had one for years and that's what I got for my SD when she needed one. Really, you should treat her and yourself to one! You can save on the refills by buying at Costco or BJs.
