I have what appeare to be a mole but it is a little orangy light brown lump on my thigh with a relatively long black hair coming out of it (i have blonde hair). What could it be?
I also have had no tan or burn and havent had any over exposure to sunlight.
But my mom has skin cancer
I know no one can give me a diagnosis but i like the input.

What can I do next?

It sounds like the nasty looking thing my mom had on her neck that she called a beauty spot. Yeah mom, it ain't beautiful.

She made my dad pull the hair once a month. :(

My mom had it her whole life and nothing came of it but if I had one I sure would be running to my doctor.

If it's got hair growing out of it, it's probably a mole, but esp.. if it's new, you should have a dr. look at it.

Lol Jo, your dad probably loved that.

Go have it check just to be safe expecially since your Mom had skin cancer. Better safe than sorry.

Many people develop new moles throughout life – my husband gets at least a few new ones every year since he turned 50-ish, and I've gotten a couple of new ones myself. A hair in the middle is probably a mole. A darker of coarser hair is not uncommon. But if you're in the least worried about it, have a doctor look at it.

i had a brown spot slightly raised for many years just had it removed because the doctor didn't like the look of it but he did a byopsy and said it was fine just sun spot that sometimes appears. Especially if your irish you get them. But if you have others just go and get it checked out by a specialist in that area. It doesn't hurt and my mother had one too that she had removed on her face but i think that was cancerous shes 100% irish and older.

I agree, any new mole needs to be checked out by a Dermatologist especially if skin cancer is in the family.

Better to be safe and get it checked out!
