Recently I purchased a nice used baby stroller at a garage sale and I wanted to clean it. I realized that the material is sewed on the frame and cannot be removed to be washed. I'm looking for some suggestions on how to clean the material. Thanks!

What can I do next?

So What Happened?

Thank you so much for all the good advice. We have a car wash close to our house so I'm going to try that option and then let it dry outside afterwards.

I would use a sponge and some woolite. Take it outside and spray it down with the hose and rinse it off that way. If it's really natsy I would carefully remove it from the frame. I would take notes to make it better to put back on. Use a larger but sharp needle and some button weight or upholstry thread and carefully hand sew it back on. Wash in the washer but dry it back on the frame incase it tightens up. Which it might do in the dryer. I am a seamstress if you cannot tell.

You could steam clean it with an upholstery cleaner.

I've used soap and water outside, with a scrub brush if needed, and just rinse real good and let it air dry. It works on our Graco DuoGlide.

since it's summer time, i'd pick a sunny/warm day, go outside wtih a bucket of water and dish soap, scrub the fabric and hard parts down with the a scrub brush, rinse off really well with a garden hose, and leave it outside to dry in the sun.

Take it to the car wash and power wash it! You will be amazed! This also will work great with any bigger toys that is made out of that plastice that doesn't clean very easy! I have even cleaned my 3 year old's carseat this way! LOL Anything that you try to scrub but doesn't come clean, before you decide to pitch it, give the car wash a try. I have also had it work on a pair of flip flops that I got grass stain on from mowing, (not that I should have been wearing flip flops to mow in.) Lawn chairs, trash cans, the list can go on and on. Just remember to be respectful and clean up any mess you might make in the car wash, (don't leave trash or anything in there).

I was too lazy to take the back piece off my daughter's stroller last spring. She spilled juice on it (still trying to figure that out since it was the back). I used some Woolite upholstery cleaner and it did a great job. Granted it was the next day so maybe it did not get a chance to set up too much but it also does a great job on my couch so may do well for you. Just give it a good drying time. I use the blue trigger spray bottle.

I bought mine used as well and took dawn soap and the water hose to it...then left it in the front yard for about an hour to dry.

We have a "Little Green Machine" by bissel that works wonders for spot cleaning. It is an carpet cleaner but works for furniture too. I am sure if you have a carpet cleaner that the furniture tool would work great. if not a scrubbrush, oxi clean and a hose works on a lot of things.

I take ours out to the yard and blast it with the garden hose, a scrub brush, and laundry detergent!

Take it to the car wash and use a self service bay. Those high pressure wands work GREAT on high chairs, too.

I would say a detergent/water mix in a bowl & use a brush to scrub it clean. Towl try to get all excess water off & then air dry thoroughly. Good luck! (Maybe follow up with lysol just to be sure)

This post just reminded me I have to clean my daughter's stroller! :-)
I just take it into the backyard, dump a bucket of water with a small amount of laundry detergent mixed in (if it's a mess like milk, puke or pee I use Anti-Bacterial Dial and water and/or bleach water), scrub it down with a rag making sure the soapy water gets all the way into the padding, then hose it down and leave it in the sun to dry. We've always used her stroller like a portable highchair when travelling, so I clean it pretty often. Good luck!
