When a babies teeth start coming in do they come in in order? One right next to each other? Or is it normal to skip some spaces between teeth?

Your doctor should be able to give you an idea of if you should be concerned, or at least let you know if a visit can wait until the next visit or illness. Being a first time mom at 38 and nervous about everything, now that my son just turned 9 last week, I have found that most things are normal. I usually saved up my questions on a list because my son often had ear infections. At 9, my son is still waiting for the teeth to come in next to the four front ones. If you need the best doctor (took me 3 docs to find him) I have ever encountered, I would recommend Jeffrey M. White on Manatee Ave. E. He is amazing !!! We just came from my sons yearly check-up and he gave my son his card to call if he ever had a question about anything. He went over with him so many scenerios of what might happen as Dakota gets older, like kids picking on him, and how to handle them. Then he said if Dakota feels a need to discuss a situation and ways to handle it to call him any time.

The back teeth will not always come in in order, you will be amazed at how the spaces will be filled in between the new teeth that are coming in. If you are still not sure, ask the pediatrician.
Hope this helps

When my son's teeth first came in - he looked like a vampire. Canines first with no front teeth. They sometimes come thru in a strange order!

Happily he is 5 and has a beautiful set of teeth.

My son has the 4 teeth on top and 4 on bottom in the front, and has just recently received all 4 of his molars that DO skip a couple teeth and come in further back. As far as I know, it's normal. The molars are supposed to come in at this time. My son is 15.5 months.
