Teething 10 Months

My daughter is 10 months old. She already has her top 4 and bottom 4 teeth. Is it normal for her to be getting in her 2 bottom eye teeth before her molars at this age? I swear I can see them under the gums. Thanks.

Hi M., I dont think there is any "normal" when it comes to teething. My son got his teeth in very fast, with 16 teeth in by his first birthday! I guess most kids dont have that many by then, but for us it was wonderful. The molars were rough but it all went so fast that it was done and over and he eats great! He had his bottom and top front two by about 8 months, and then the eye teeth on both top and bottom were right behind those, so yes it is definatly possible that she is getting them now! Good luck!

Dear M., DONT worry. Babies get all sorts of odd sprouting of teeth.
Just because you can see her eye teeth does not mean they are emerging. Takes lllllllloooooooooonnnnnggg time for eyeteeth to come through. And if they do, so what?
Doesnt matter hon.
Of my seven, had one cut two teeth at three months old. Her adult teeth are perfect and beautiful.
I had one born with two and in two weeks cut two more.
I had one that did not teeth until 11 months.
All sorts of ages, all sorts of "out of order" emerging.
Relax
Wont hurt anything and means nothing except she is cutting teeth.
Best wishes and God bless

It is possible although not very common but it can happen.
My son had his one year old molars before his eye teeth! Which is strange, but it can happen. Some babies are even born with teeth!

All kids are different. My son got his two top and bottom teeth before 10 months then no more for almost 4 more months. My daughter got her eye teeth first before any other teeth! Both have healthy teeth and gums now at 10 and 12 and don't have any problems. Don't sweat it!

Kids all teeth differently, so no worries! Of course your child can be getting the front teeth first before the molars or vice versa (like mine did!) My daughter didn't get her first tooth until she was 13-14 months and then got two molars before all her front teeth, so it doesn't matter. Most importantly is they are coming in and we start brushing to keep them clean! Good luck! XO, D.

That is totally normal. Teeth don't always come in the typical order. Mine got her bottom middle two, then her top middle two, then her eye teeth all at once, then her first set of molars, and then her canines. She had almost full mouth of teetch by the time she was one.

Now that she has her teeth, be sure to clean them regularly, if you aren't already. It can be a battle, but is very important!

I could have sworn the same thing about my son at the same age. Same scenario and everything. I checked with the dr when we were in for a visit. She said it was possible but normally some molars come in first. Well, here we are at 14 months, and still just the 8 teeth! So anything's possible, but he might not be teething after all.

M.,

I don't think that sounds odd. Though, i remember seeing them long before they actually broke through... they took absolutely forever. So who knows, maybe the molars will start to come out first yet.

PS- We are in Newport. If you ever want a playdate, my son is a bit older, but would be gentle with a 10 month old. He's really sweet.

My daughter had her top 4 and bottom 4 in that same order as well. It is normal and there is no set order.
