My one year old got some spaghetti sauce all over a nice new blue shirt...(out of town, forgot a bib)...so anyway when i got back i sprayed some oxy clean pre-wash on it and then washed it in cold. Half of the stain is still there. Is it hopeless or do i still have a chance of getting it out? If so, how?

What can I do next?

I found what I like to call my magic trick. It was worked on stains that have gone through the washer and dryer more than once. It even worked on (tmi) blueberry vomit.

Spray with shout or equivalent. Sprinkle oxyclean powder on the wet area and let it sit for a day or so. The stain is usually gone before i even run it through the wash again! :)

First soak it in a bucket of water and oxiclean overnight.

Wash in cold water with your regular detergent. Then hang to dry in the sun-still WET!

This works on our tough stains. And sunning works wonders for anything! I hang cloth diaper out to dry and they look great!

Put it out in the sun! The sun is great for fading tomato based stains!

Good luck!

I pretreat the stain with Shout and some laundry detergent. I let it sit for about a 1/2 hour to an hour, then wash it. If the stain is still there after washing, I treat it again and add it to the next load of laundry I do (normally the next day or two). It usually takes 4 - 5 pretreatments and washes to get the stain out though.

I swear by the oxyclean spray, its in a blue bottle with a yellow nozzle next to all the other brands of spray n wash pre treaters...I have such awesome luck with it, sometimes I have had to wash an item multiple times but it has even got stains out that I missed and did not notice until it had made it through the drier and we all know that usually is a death sentence for an item of clothing.

Try WD-40 or Dawn dishwashing liquid. Do NOT dry it in the dryer or it will set the stain forever. You might have to wash it a few dozen times to get that stain out.

Try Lestoil. You only need to apply the smallest amount. Then re-wash it. Hope that helps......

if you haven't dried it yet - pre-wash it again....let it sit for a while (about an hour) before you wash it again - soak BOTH sides of the stain....

GOOD LUCK!!
