My son will be turning 2 sometime in October. He currently stays at home with his grandparents while I work. I wanted to enroll him in a school or program later this year where he can go one or two times a week, just to start getting him used to the idea of school since he may start next year. He's very social and loves to try new things. Any recommendations for 2 yr olds - not potty trained yet? Thanks!

What can I do next?

Hi, we love Small Miracles in Woodridge. Not sure if their programs have started already but worth looking into. http://www.woodridgeumc.org/templates/System/details.asp?...

It sounds like you need a parent's day out program. They are usually done through churches I think.

I've heard the Bolingbrook Park District has a great nature pre-school program. Not sure of the start age though.

Hello. Please feel free to come to my music studio in Bolingbrook for a feww demonstration of our music classes. Our students are creating such a nice community. Often times a music teacher or class is a child's first formal educational experience. We have an informal environment and we all have such fun once a week. You could check out your local YMCA. My son was in a 2 year old class and is moving on to the 3 year old class. It's one day a week, 45 minutes long. The parents just have to stay in the building. They read stories, do arts and craft, and play with the other kids.

Hi, C.. I am not sure how far you are from Downers South High School, but my daughter participated in a program there when she was two and not potty trained. I think it is called a Mom's Day Out program, and I believe it is run by the Child Development teacher and the students. Kids 6 mos. through 3 years old can participate. It is a year long program that usually begins in October and ends in May for @ $75 for the school year (usually fills up quickly). They participate in games, crafts, free play, snack, story time, etc. My daughter loved it. It was a great way to get her prepared for preschool.

Good luck.
