Seeking Mum

Hi,

I am not who you seek, but I believe all moms need to either know how to make mums, or know someone who does. They are so expensive from the florist (I am one, so I know) and are so easy to make. You can get everything you need from Hobby Lobby, they even have classes on how to make them. There are always "leftovers" on the stuff and that can be used for the next year. You can personalize them easy as well. Hope it goes well for you.

If you want artificial flowers, I have seen some really nice ones that people have had made at Hobby Lobby and Michaels.

there is a lady in euless called the mum mom does and excellent job for the fraction of the cost that hobby lobby and other places charge sorry but i do not have her number with me at work i can get it to you though if you are interested don't know if you are even in the area

Usually florist shops do them, or you can get the stuff from hobby lobby or walmart to make them yourself (not to hard, depending on what you are wanting, and how crafty you are)!!

Call a florist. Most have experience with it.

the flower shops are experts on that, any one of them can help you. And in West Texas bigger is better! My question for you is how did you find a good job for stay at home work? I work outside the home at the moment.

Florist, Hobby Lobby, and you can buy the items and make it yourself (which I think is fun!)

Your local grocery store florist or regualr florist should be able to do it.

I think I have seen mums at Michael's - the art/hobby store. Good luck!

I've made all of mine - Hobby Lobby and Michael's both sell all the stuff and can show you what you need. You can also order one from each of these places or a florist. Be careful - the cost can really go up!! Just try and think of what the girl (or boy) likes and be creative. I find a lot of items to glue on in the doll house area of Hobby Lobby, toy department of Walmart, etc. I've used sports items (tennis rackets, footballs, golf clubs, baseball, basketball), cell phones, small keychain items like scrabble games, hot wheel cars of their dream car, crosses, etc. They also love to have their name and their dates name spelt out with glitsy letters that you can pick up at Hobby Lobby. Add their graduation year, high school name - just have fun! Use lots of various ribbons - different school colors, widths, texture and add the letters and items to the ribbons. Put a white teddy bear in the center of the mum holding something the kid likes and add some small bells or something.

it much cheaper to make them yourself.. I have made mums before for my family..
first of all you need to find out if you want it to hang on the shoulder or do you want a wrist mum.
and what is the occuasion it for, a baby mum for a new born, or for a game?
There are so many styles out there, and when you make it just because your is different from others tht ok, for it for personal taste..
you pick your colors you want to use, you can get the circles which you will need 2 of themat a craft store, the small ones are for small mums, the larger ones are for your larger ones.
There are also heart mums, which you can put about 3 mums on it I believe, not done a heart mum yet, so I would need the pattern to see how many mums for sure, but like I've said I think it will take about 3.. just put the mums on it and see how many it will take.

take the ribbon and cut 2 strips of each color very short and fold it over and staple it to the cardboard to make your edges
on one of the circles, the other circle you will hang the long strips.

Then get the trickets you hang on the ribbons as the last thing.

Plus making the mums can be fun and a enjoyment item for the person you are giving it to.

You can custom order them through Michael's or buy all of the stuff there and make it yourself! The designer will help you with all you need if you decide to do it yourself. The Lewisville store carries the supplies all year long and I have seen the supplies recently in the Southlake store. Call ahead if one of the stores are not local for you and ask if they have their Homecoming out yet! Good Luck!

You can contact a florist for a real one - the fake ones, and the ribbon boards they come on and all the acoutrements are at wal-mart around home coming season (fall).

are you trying to get one for your child. have you tried making one. i made one for both my sisters last year. i spent 60 dollars to make both of them and they came out amazing. my oldest sister said everyone was talking about it for ever. all you need is the flower ribbons and litte decorations, adn hot glue and a safety pin. i made both of mine in like 45 min. michaels is the best place to get the stuff. they are fun to make.

My mother makes mums if you are in need of one pls let me know!!
