I am looking for a private school around the 75231, 75238, 75243 (and even 75218) areas. I am looking for a school with strong academics and extracurricular activities/sports. Can anyone provide me with recommendations, advice, tips, etc. in my search? Thank you!

You must live in Lake Highlands like I do. We drive to Trinity Christian in Addison, and it is worth it. But if you want closer schools here is some of what I know -
Covenant is close (east of Hillcrest & LBJ) and very good. Smaller than TCA but similar in beliefs. Headmaster is TCA graduate.
Parish is good. Lower school campus is close (Hillcrest & Spring Valley) but upper school is not.
Scoffield is close, but I did not visit there.
Highlander is excellent but only goes through 6th grade. (Plano Road near NW Highway)
St. John's (near White Rock Athletic Center) is good but just as expensive as ESD and the other big boys.

Overall, we considered around 15 schools and visited 13 of them. E-mail me if you want more advice. ____@____.com

I live in 75243 and I send my kids to Parish Episcopal School. It seems far but it actually does not turn out to be -- we leave home at 7:43 and make it to school at 7:57.

It is absolutely excellent. The community is incredibly strong and accepting -- the faculty is attentive and responsive -- the academics are incredible.

I would agree that Parish Episcopal is a great school. I have a few friends who have had children go there and they absolutely rave about it. There is also Trinity Christian and Episcopal School of Dallas (strong athletics). Dallas has so many private schools due to the incredibly bad public school system that it would be bet for you to the website mentioned earlier to get more information.
