Hi Mamas. My family will be flying from the West to the East Coast next week with our 5 month old little boy. I wondered if anyone had any tips (besides feeding him during takeoff and landing) or product recommendations to make things go smoothly for everyone. Also, how much expressed milk can I go through security with? Thanks in advance for all of the advice!
You definately want him sucking on departure and arrival, be it breast feeding, a pacifier or bottle!!!
I was never a public breast feeder, but on the plane I would sit against the window, with my husband next to me and a blanket over me and no one could see.
PS: this is a great trick for shots as well, as soon as they gave her shots they would walk out, put a note on the door and we would BF her, and she never cried!
When I took my son on his first flight he was 9 weeks old. On top of feeding him on take off and landing, I put him in his Baby Bjorn and he slept the entire time. He was close, and could feel my heartbeat.

Take a boppy on the plane!!!! We didn't do this the first leg of our first trip and our daughter slept the whole flight on me and I was very uncomfortable trying to keep her asleep and me not moving. So we bought one on the east coast before heading back and now we always bring it on planes. It makes the flight so much better!
