Seeking 1St Time Moms 40 and Over

This is such a great idea. Also, because many over-40 new moms are/were full-time working parents, that alone is something that could use support and allows for possible weekend play groups (instead of just middle-of-the-weekday activities that my now-19 month old can't participate in). I started a mama group with another wonderful mama soon after my son was born, but when I went back to work, I pretty much had to end the weekday group activities. Thus, to benefit your child as well as yourself, this is a great thing to pursue! Please let me know if the group expands beyong first year.

What a great thing to get going. I am a part of a MOPS (Mother's of Preschoolers) group and it is great. The only thing is that most of the other moms are younger. I became a mom at 39 (65 minutes before turning 40!). I would love a group for women in my own station in life. I want to encourage you to think of creating a group that goes beyond the first year of baby. My experience is that I struggle with different things than my younger mom friends. So, I think older moms would welcome ongoing support and encouragement from those in their same station in life. Also, my church building may be available for your meetings. We are in the Culver City area.

I would be interested. I had my first baby at Saint John's in SM in May 08 at age 42. I was BCBG'S clothing designer for 3 years until I had my son and was let go for not being able to work past 6pm. I enjoy my SAHM status but will go back to work as soon as I can find a job (impossibly tough). Let me know the details when you get them.

Hi A., I am so happy that someone is finally stepping up and starting a support group for women in their fourties. I am 41 and contemplating getting pregnant this year. I have a 12 year old son and a 3 year old doughter. I work full time and I am in the medical field.
Not a R.N. yet but in the works.
