Sandals for Toddler

Does any one have suggestions for supportive sandals (no flip flops) for my 3 year old? Last year we had Keens but they were hard to get on and off so this year I bought TEVAs but they gave him blisters/cuts and he refuses to put them on again. I would like something he could possibly learn to put on himself or at least a sandal that is easy to put on. He has a pair of Crocs but he doesn't really like them. Thanks!

Buster Brown makes some that are similar to the Keen sandals, but they are much easier to put on. Instead of the elastic band, they have a velcro strap. YOu can find them at Famous Footwear, but I found them online for cheaper. This is the 3rd summer that my 3.5 yr old son and 2 yr old daughter will be wearing them. Good luck and happy summer!!!!

Have you looked at a Clarks store? They have really cute and comfy kids sandals.

We just bought my daughter sandals from Stride Rite. They are a little more expensive than most, but I have found that they really last and you can also usually find new in the box shoes from SR on eBay. The sandals we bought my daughter have hard bottoms (with the rubber like a sneaker) and they velcro around her ankle. I like that she is able to take them on and off herself.

We swear by stride rite..... 2 years running their sneakers that we buy in May have lasted a full year (they look gross, but they still fir their feet!) Obviously they wear a bunch of different shoes than just their sneakers.... but every other shoe we buy ends up not usable in 4-6 months.

They have great sandals and several outlet locations so you can get some decent prices there.

Have you tried the nikes at jcpenney... they are called nike sunray adjust sandals. If jcpenney doesn't have them a lot of other stores like Kohls has them.
I get flip flop type sandals at children's place because they have straps across the back. Not sure if you shop online but I love Zappos!!!

You might want to look at some of the new Keens. My girls couldn't put on the Keens I bought them when they were 2 or 3, but the version I found this year are great - they can slip them on with no issues. Ok - just checked, we have the Venice sandals this year. Just don't get the Sunport... they're basically molded plastic.

We buy a pair of Carters every year at Kohl's. They're nice and sneakery, with velcro that is easy for my dd to do herself.

My kids wear Timberland sport sandals and love them. They are easy to put on with just 2 velcro straps. We buy them at Famous Footwear for around $20-25.

might want to try a good shoe store lke Stride Rite. They have always had

See Kai Run (they have an online site and if you google it you will find lots of sites that carry them). They are super soft leather with flexible soles.

A little expensive, but birkenstock Birkis may be your best best. They are rubber like the crocs and waterproof, but no nubs inside. Inside is smooth and more soothing to little feet. As always, YMMV. Good luck!
