Preschools In/near Plymouth

My daughter just turned 4 in Sept, so just misses the cut-off for school. Right now she is in her first year of preschool, so in a 3 yr old class. She is a very independent little girl & way ahead of most of her class in talking, writing, coloring/painting. According to her teacher, what she does now in class, they expect the kids to do next spring. I'm hoping to find a preschool or pre-k program 4 days a week for next year, since she will be ready for kindergarten but won't be going for another 2 yrs. Does anyone have any suggestions for that type of a more academic preschool in the Plymouth area that isn't too expensive?

Not sure what school district you belong to but I think the Osseo and Robbinsdale school disticts both have preK programs designed specifically for older 4 year olds who just missed the cut off (I think the Osseo one is called 4Star) I also have a early fall baby who will be needing something like that next year. If you are in Wayzata they should have one as well. Contact your EFCE class.
My son currently goes to the preK at the New Hope church (just across the 169 on Rockford and so far I have been very impressed and had chosen the school based on many great reviews from other moms, plus I wanted a Christian based preK for at least the first year. I don't know if any of their programs are designed specifically for older 4's though

I've heard great things about Step by Step Montessori! A good friend's child attended through Kindergarten - and they rave about it.

We also love in Plymouth and have been really happy with our preschool. I highly recommend Evergreen Montessori in Crystal(just off of Rockford Rd)The staff is extremely warm and the program while fun, meets each child at their own level. It is a parent run school which help keeps cost lower. They offer 3, 4 and 5 day programs. Check out the website at evergreenmontessori.org

I can't say enough about Calvary Pre-K in Golden Valley. Lots of Plymouth families, too. They have a program called "Kids Club", if you are interested (along with their 4's program) for kids who are 5 but wait for kindergarten. They would typically also allow your daughter into the class.
Consider checking it out - but do it during the school year so you can visit and see it in action. ###-###-####
