My dr. informed me that I may get a massage but I am unsure of where to go that I will not have to lie on my belly. I am 8 mo. along and need some lower back pain relief! Any suggestions would be great for the 60803 area.

What can I do next?

Hi T..

Go to Jeffrey Lamore in Orland Park, off LaGrange ask to get a pregcnancy massage from Maureen. She is so good. I went to her all through my pregnancy. I also went to her 2 weeks before I had my daughter. Good luck!

hi T., i am a massage therapist, out of indiana, and doing massage on you would not be hard, they have you lay on your side, put pillows around you or blankets too, to make sure you are comfortable, and not hurt the baby in any way, it is very relaxing, but you can also get your legs and arms done too.

Hello :) I am a massage therapist (but havent been practcing while pregnant) and I know that most massage places/spas off pre-natal massage. You just have to ask about it, but make sure that they do have the correct credentials for it. Pre natal massage is usually always preformed laying on your side, so you dont have to worry about laying on your tummy :) good luck.

I went to mario tricoci when i was 6 months along and it was awesome! They required a doctors note since they could possibly induce labor during your 3rd trimester. But when i told my doctor this he just laughed and said "They wish they had that power!" I definatly recommend them!

If you know of any spas, salons, or massage therapy locations in your area, just give them a call and see if they offer a pre-natal or pregnancy massage. Ask how many LICENSED/CREDENTIALED pre-natal massage therapists they have and inquire about their training. Ironically enough, I just had one this morning and it was incredible! I receive approximately 6 full body, hour-long massages each year and this was my first pregnancy massage. Half of the massage was done with me on my left side and the other half of the massage was done with my on my right side. The therapist provided as many (or as few!) pillows as I wanted, including a full body pillow for arms/legs. I'm 31 weeks (due March 5) and I am going to have another one done before the baby comes - it simply was that relaxing, amazing, and the best $85 I've spent lately!

I know I wasn't able to give you a specific locale, but I hope the information helps. Good luck to you!
