try ebay for shopping.

also, toy r us and babies r us has a college tuition re-embursment program for their employees. i'm not sure at what age they hire but it might be worth checking out. and the employee discout would be nice too!

Once Upon A Child has great gently used clothes and furnishings. I have also heard good things about Childrens Orchard. Both are in Lexington in the Nicholasville Rd area. Unfortuantly i don't believe that anyone will hire under the age of 16.

I love Once Apon A Child in the Zandale Shopping Center. My grandma also told me there is kids consignment store on the south end of Main St in Nicholasville, across from Krogers, but I've not been there yet. As far as hiring at 15...mostly only fast food places will hire that young.

I LOVE Goodwill, I have never been to either store in Nicholasville and I haven't found one I like in Lexington (only been to two, both were small, cramped and dingy looking) but, I lived in Danville and Harrodsburg and found very nice stuff. You have to "dig". All of the baby and toddler clothes are in a big bin and each item is $.50. It's a hit or miss deal though, the best way is to go often, when I worked in Danville I would go on my lunch break a few times a week, you may not find anything one day, then leave with a bag full the next! I found a Safety 1st walker for $3.50, a infant/toddler vibrating rocker for $2.50, a Little Einstein play mat that sings and has the toys hanging above (like $50 new) for $2.50 and a Graco Duo Glider Stroller for $8.50, I got each one at different times, that's why I say to go often. All in great shape. Yard sales are good too, but it can take a lot of time to find the one person selling the size and for the right sex that you need. I think I read in the paper that there is a big yard sale tomorrow in Nicholasville,at a church or some organization. I know you don't know the sex yet but you could look for furnishings, strollers, bouncy seats, even onsies. Good Luck and congrats!

R.,

I just wanted to add a few great places to find gently used items. Children's Orchard has two locations, Idle Hour and Regency Center. If you sign up for the MOMS club they send out special emails about sales. Also, Once Upon A Child is in Zandale Center behind Fazoli's. I find many great items for my two little ones there. Best wishes for you and your family!

Hello! In Ricmond in Sept. and March there is a HUGE childrens clothes sale. It is held at a church on Main street. Sept. is obviously past but in March they sell all the summer clothes. They have really high standards (no stain, tears, ect)also they have baby/kid toys, books, stroller, and car seats. It is really nice and organized. So if you wanted to wait till then it might be worth it budget-wise.

hi its me M., do you know the sex of the baby? my little boy is 9 weeks and i have a whole lot of clothes. i also have a extra car seat if you need it.will she be 16 after she has the baby because golden corral will hire her. the frontline is the best places to work there. i worked there for 14 months and was the crewleader for the frontline. its real easy.and they have good management there. on the frontline all you do is as the poeple enter you fix their drinks and ring them up on the register and keep your area stocked with the things you need. if she stays in school she would need to work nights the hours would be 4:30 or 5:00 to 9:30 to 11:00. they start out at 5.15 a hour. i was making 7.00 when i left.
