My 10 month old has always been a little clingy but lately he is really fussy and wants me all of the time. I think that maybe something is wrong with him because he also suddenly will not eat baby food. He will put finger foods in his mouth but then he just cries and won't swallow it. Last night he woke up and cried for about an hour. Any suggestions are welcome. I do not think he is teething because he already had two on bottom and two on top. Also he is not rubbing his gums and I don't feel any teeth coming in. Please also give me sugguestions on how to help him (and myself) through this.
I would like to thank everyone who responded to me. Well, my son's problem seems to have gotten better by itself. I am guessing he had a sore throat. I wish they could tell us what they need. Thanks again. New update: he does have a new teeth coming in on the bottom. I thought they didn't get a third one there this early.
I think teething because of eating issues too...sometimes they are experiencing the teething pain before we see anything at all, or may not be feeling good and other symptoms just aren't there right now- fever etc. So hard at that age, teeth, not feeling well? just getting used to life in general ...:)

Think ear infection first.
If not that the clinging may be a sign of separation anxiety again. It happens about that age. They are afraid that you will go away and not come back. You just have to go away, despite the crying and clinging, even if they act as if they are going to die. And eventually they learn you will always come back.
My son got this way teething or ear infection.

Sounds like teething to me. My daughter started to get her molars at 11 months, and all she wanted to do was be held or nursed.
Certainly sounds like a sore throat to me. Is he drinking fluids OK? Push popcicles and juice and have him checked by your pediatrician.
Does he cry more than usual when you lay him down? It could be an ear infection. Try some Motrin and then call the advice nurse.

I hope by now you have done something. I did not read through all the other advice, but have you gotten his ears checked. Sometimes it is hard to tell when they have ear problems and that can effect so many things. My daughter does not get fever's so is really hard for me to tell when she is sick. I say get his throat and ears checked if you have not done so already. Good luck
sounds like a sore throat to me. I would take him to the Dr. to rule out Strep throat.
It may be a sore throat or it may be teething. If it is teething here's a couple of suggestions: hyland's homeopathic teething tablets and a hazelwood necklace.
